Arriving Day before Ressie

I don't know if this is the right board for this - our ressie at BCV begins on 8/14, but we're arriving the day before because airfares are much cheaper. So we'll just stay with cash at a value resort. The question is - what about our luggage? Will Magical Express take us to an Allstar and the luggage to the Beach Club where we'll get it the next day? Or if we take our luggage to the Allstar, will they send it to the Beach Club the next day? I'm sure this has been done before, I've just never done it and am not sure how it will work with the luggage.

I've booked a value for the night before a DVC stay. I booked ME to Pop Century when I made that reservation, and the luggage came to Pop Century. Then, the next day, I brought the luggage to the mail lobby area...outside there are CM's who will take your luggage to be transferred to the next resort, which for me was AKV. It worked flawlessly for me.

We are doing the very same thing next week. I hope it goes well. I would like them to just keep the luggage and deliver the next day to BCV but I don't think we can do that. We are not arriving until about 9PM and are packing what we need for the next day in our carry ons. I'll try to post after I get there to let you know how it worked. WOO HOO!! We only have 7 days to go

ME will send your luggage to AS. The next day have AS transfer it to BCV. The transfer happens around 3:00 PM.

Back in Dec I booked 1 night at ASM before we moved over to VWL. I barely slept due to a small, hard bed right next to the door with a pillow filled with squeaky fibers.

This trip, like you, we'll be coming in the day before our reservations (1 night BLT followed by a VWL stay) due to better airfare. I plan on us staying the night at the MCO Hilton and then taking ME the next morning right to BLT.

No more squeaky pillows

Interesting discussion. I'm looking at the MCO hotel option for the first night and I found out that I could actually save money by taking a flight the day before my reservation. If we did that and went back to the airport the next morning could we still take the Magical Express to our DVC resort? Of course, we'd have to keep our luggage with us.

Oh, dear - we have exactly the same plan in place for June (arriving late at ASM, checking out next morning and checking into VWL). Irrespective of the hard bed and squeaky pillow, where there any hassles in your luggage transfer?

I called Bell services and they came and transferred my luggage over to VWL for me - no trouble at all & the gentleman was very nice.

For a place to crash for one night it was fine. I just need to feel comfortable to let my guard down enough to sleep and I wasn't prepared for the sleeping arrangements. We tried it because I had never stayed at a value before and what better time to try than a night we had no home? Would I ever stay there again? Perhaps if I had a young child with me who was in love with the giant characters. My kids were 12 & 16 and although it was cool, we could have gotten just as much out of the experience by treking over and walking around for an hour.

I think DVC has spoiled me.... and I love it.

I'll be calling MS this morning to arrange ME transfers and I'll update after I do so... I need to get some real work done first (yea, the DIS boards have taken precedence LOL)

What I have read is we are allowed to take ME providing we're taking it on a day we're checking into the resort. ME really doesn't care if we're coming in by plane, train, bus or elephant. It's up to us to get to them. However, for the computer they need a flight that matches the time we will be taking the service.

I'll let you know how I make out.
