I know this sounds goofy. However, my son has a bb game on friday night so we will be unable to leave Friday until 6:30pm so we will not arrive in Orlando until 4am. My brother and wife are staying at the AS Sports that night and the guys are all going to IOA on Sat. My SIL and I are going over to the BWV's to check in and then shop for the day.

Would it be a problem for us to show up at 4 am and want to see my brother?

I think security would have questions showing up at 4am without a reservation. Everytime we've checked in late we have had to show a reservation to be let in. The resort will not give out room numbers for security purposes. Personally I would not want to be awakened in the middle of the night to visitors.

Yeah well my brother doesn't plan on going to IOA by himself....and thats the time we're arriving in orlando. And we will have his room number.

The guard at the security gate will probalby call your brother's room to confirm it with him. You should have no problem.

If it were at a reasonable hour then security would phone your brother for permission. They won't at 4 a.m. unless you have it pre-arranged with the front desk and then you'll be opening a can of worms because at 4 a.m. they pretty much know you are looking for a place to crash at which point they'll be glad to find you a room at reg. rate and/or charge your brother extra for the extra people in the room.

Last Jan we arrived at OKW to meet my parents at 4am. My parents just notified security. When we arrived at the gate, they asked for identification, I gave them my parents name and room number, they called and we were on our way.

No problems whatsover, the guard even welcomed us home, and waved us along.

I think the guard was happy to talk to someone at four in the morning.

I have no experience with this, but there could be other reasons for you 'visiting' at 4am than wanting someplace to sleep so I would think they'd let you in if he told them he was expecting guests. You could be there to take him to the airport, you could be picking him up for a day trip somewhere, and number of reasons so I doubt they'd say no. To be on the safe side of not having to go through a huge hassle, I would have him tell the front desk and security that you'll be arriving then to meet him.

OKW being a DVC resort is a bit different. I'm assuming you were staying with your parents and had your name on the reservation? Or at least they had the room occupancy to have you stay if you wanted to? To the OP, I hope it all works well for you. I am just repeating what a Disney CM told me and I thought it would be worth it to give you the heads up. I don't know what the OP's going to do once there - sleep or not. I just was told that WDW doesn't want to set a precedent of a family booking one room and the rest of the family showing up to "visit". In their eyes it seems to be a way to get around the occupancy rules. Don't shoot the messenger!

I will just call -they would be leaving the resort in 3 hours for the parks so I don't consider that crashing- obviously some do. If its an issue we will go over to the BWV's and precheck and sit there. Thanks to those with positive feedback, and for those implying that we wanted to crash- if I were cheap and wanting to crash I doubt I would have flipped for the 2 bedroom and studio at the BWV's for 10 nights for our party but who knows maybe I am cheap.;)

Just a suggestion, but why don't you book a room for the night/morning of your arrival at the AS Sports so when you arrive at 4 a.m. you can get a little bit of sleep, shower etc. After all, that is a long drive and y'all have a big day ahead of you. Have a great trip!

I don't think anyone was implying that you are cheap. I think the poster whom you are refering to was just telling you what might happen when you get there. After all, you asked.

If your reservation for BW is Sat, I think the earliest you can check in is 6am, so I don't think the BW will let you in at that time of night either.

The best thing is for your brother to ask when they check in and then have them contact security, and they will call their room when you arrive.

I have to ask this because I know others are wondering too...why wouldn't you let your poor brother sleep those extra few hours, why would you possibly want to wake him up at that ungodly hour just to hang out? I don't know, sleep is so valuable to me at DW, as the days are so busy. Sorry, just had to ask that burning question.

Simply question gets a simply answer. I had decided to arrive later but my brother said why not just come over and hang out. My brother is up by 5 am anyway, we are not a sleeping group at Disney or otherwise.
