Arriving a day early?

WE are thinking of arriving a day early. We can get great rates thru Southwest and thought if we could arrive the evening before that would be great. How do they handle that as far as our room is concerned. Would we just pay a normal room rate and how do I find out what that is? WE have a package for the rest of our visit.

We have a land/sea package, and I arranged to arrive a day early with a separate reservation for one night, paying the regular room rate. I have it noted on my reservation that I have a package starting the next day, and have requested that we not have to change rooms.

I would think you could do the same, if that appeals to you.

We did that as well. We just booked a room in DTD at the Grosvenor (wouldn't recommend that, but there are plenty others). It was nice, we walked over to DTD and had lunch, shopped, etc. We had a rental car and drove around the area as well. We were then able to get to the AKL around 8 am, get our park tickets and get to AK by 9am. I packed a suitcase specifically for that one night so we didn't have to haul all of our luggage up. Other people have said that that Hayatt (I think) at the airport will shuttle you back to the ME area in the morning if you come in early and want to use ME.
