I was booked at Boardwalk for this week but cancelled due to Irma. Booking was through third party, not Disney, and they could only cancel, not rebook. I was able to change flights for next week and have booked a room at Dolphin. I really want to stay at BW, BC OR YC, but there is no availability showing anywhere online. I haven't tried calling because I know everyone is busy due to Irma. So, questions: would calling give me a better chance at a room? Is "no availability" online due to overloaded systems or actual "no availability"? If overloaded system, i am hoping rooms will start to show online later Sunday or Monday. Thoughts?

Honestly, no availability probably means just that. The 16th is just a week away and the Epcot resorts tend to fill up fast this time of year because of the Food & Wine Festival. You can try calling to see if a room opens but do so knowing that people have been on hold for over 6 hours due to Hurricane Irma. I'd probably wait until the middle of next week to call as by then the extent of the damage should be known and people may cancel their vacations if it's extensive.

If it makes you feel better, my sister stayed at the Dolphin a few weeks ago and really liked it. She acknowledged that it didn't feel "Disney" but it was fine, more than fine.

I'd keep an eye out, depending on air travel & other variables there could still be some cancellations. Keep your Dolphin resv for the time being though.:earsboy:

We had to change yesterday bc we were supposed to be flying in today. We rebooked for Wednesday, 9/13 - 9/17. While we were on the phone, availability changed three or four times. We started out with one night at Kidani, two nights at SSR, and homeless the last night. Ended up with all nights in a studio at the Poly. This is a DVC stay, but I think you can probably assume that the regular reservations system is changing just as fast, if not quicker. I would call and see what they can dig up for you.

I'm going that week and always stay at some Epcot resort, especially during F&W. I'm staying at Dolphin but always check up to a few weeks before the trip to see if anything else opens with a better price. The last time I checked about 2 weeks ago all the Epcot resorts were booked up so I don't see any opening this close. I've stayed at Swan/Dolphin a number of times and while I still enjoy the Disney resorts better, you can't beat the location and price.

We arrive at BWI that day and bookings for that week have been tight for months now. I've wanted to change to a monorail resort and have not found any opportunities for over 3 months. September is no longer a "slow" time for the Disney resorts. Sorry!
