Arrived home this morning, flew back on revamped Virgin plane

Arrived back this morning after 3 fantastic weeks. Flew on one of the upgraded Jumbo's (Ladybird). We were sat in Premium Economy upstairs which on that plane is now half PE and half economy. So nice to have a good entertainment system as the one we flew out with was rubbish. Flight was good. Will be interested to know how you go about getting those economy seats upstairs. Although saying that, my husband says he cannot go back to economy as even flying PE for 8/9 hours is a nightmare!

You have just inspired my latest thread lol now currently trying to upgrade (well at least get a quote and if its not too expensive go for it lol) with not much success!
How did you find virgin over all?? I havent flown with them since 2008 so very interested to hear all the inside info!! How were your 3 weeks??? did it fly by?

Virgin are ok, always seem to be the cheapest when I book. We paid £750 each for PE both ways. However, on the way out we were on plane with the worst entertainment system so I really don't think the standard was high enough for PE.
This was our 9th trip in 7 years and have flown Virgin 8 times. Atleast this time we were on time which is unusual for Virgin!
3 weeks seems like a long time when you are there but once you are home it feels like it went quickly. We might try to go for 4 next year with a week at the beach at the end of the holiday.
All in all, a fantastic time.

Are the economy seats in the bubble extra leg room seats?..

Glad you had a good flight back - how was the split upstairs. I have never been upstairs but have read a lot of people who fly PE bemoan the fact that economy is up there as well as they thought it would be noisier and not as good?

Good question - it would be interesting to see if they inherited one of TCD's good policies of 16+ only upstairs....

It was fine upstairs. I didn't really notice any difference noise wise from last time when only PE. Definitely children up there. Didn't look like extra leg room apart from the front row but I maybe wrong. There was a curtain dividing 2 sections but as far as I saw, this open the whole time.
