Arrival Time - For the First Time in Forever

I'm working through our plan for HS. We will be in there in the AM one day and the PM another day. I was doing "For the First Time..." in the AM but now I am thinking of moving it to the PM day. We're only going at night to catch the fireworks and I thought this might be something to add...for something to do (last show is at 630). We were there mid-July last year and had no problems getting in last minute (they were no longer allowing fast pass in and I'm pretty sure we were the last guests in). It was the middle of the day (right after lunch). Any thoughts on arrival time? I know that noone can be certain - just looking for experiences. Thank you again for your thoughts, these boards save my life!

You don't have to show up real early for it. I'd show up about 5-15 min before the next showing.

Even on high crowd days, 5 minutes before start time has always worked for us. No guarantees, but I wouldn't stress about it.

I've jumped in line recently, 5 minutes before show time and we still got seated (not together, but in the same general area).
