Hi all,

Been lurking for a few weeks...finally making a post! These boards have been a huge help with our planning.

We're headed down in November - first time in over 12 years and first time with our child. Just a general timing question (only question "for now"!):

If we arrive at Orlando International at 11:15, get a rental, drive to Yacht Club, either check in or drop the bags...what time can we expect to hit Epcot that afternoon (assuming all is on time and smooth)? Just looking for a general ballpark so I can try to plan out a 1/2 at Epcot that day.

Thanks!

Check-in is usuallly after 3, but I'm almost positive that if you get there earlier you can check in and check your bags and go to EPCOT for the afternoon. The front desk would be able to advise you when your room would be ready.

Have a "magical" time!!!!

I would estimate an hour and a half after you arrive in Orlando, you would be checked in best case scenario. Two hours worst.... You might get it done more quickly, but you have to count on the time it takes to get off the plane and rent your car. NO line, long line? then you have to get your luggage and that can take 30 mintes and then you have a 20 to 30 minute drive... It is oging to take about 30 minutes to check in, so I would figure 2 hours to be safe.

thanks for the replies - appreciate it! Can't wait to get down there!

You can check-in at your resort as soon as you arrive even if your room is not ready. Luggage services will store your bags and deliver them to your room when it becomes available.

We arrive next month at MCO at 11:15 too. We will be using ME rather than renting this trip. Our last trip our timing was about the same.
I expect to be heading into Epcot between 1:15 and 1:30 that afternoon.
Check In is 3 PM, but you can check in, get your Key to the World Card (Room key and passes) and your DDP credits if you are on the plan at any time. Bell Services will store your bags. You will be given a telephone number to call during the afternoon to ascertain when your room is ready. There will be no need to go to the desk again, but rather straight to your room. You can call down and Bell Services will deliver your luggage.
Other than using ME luggage delivery rather than Bell Services, this is what we do each trip. It is easy and fun.
Have a Great Trip.

Another time saving tip since your renting a car, look into companies that offer online check-in. That can potentially save you alot of time since you won't have to wait in line at the reservation desk. I usually do this using Alamo, and it allows me to bypass the counter and just walk to the garage to pick out my car. :goodvibes

If you didn't I would use ME... espeically staying at YC, MGM is a boat ride, ecpot is walking, and MK is walking to epcot catching a monorail... and that leave AK to bus it...

If you do taht they will take care of picking up your luggage at the airport from the airline, as well as deliver it to your room. I would say 2 hrs is a good estimate and you might be there a bit sooner!

Enjoy your trip-- YC is wonderful! and novemeber is a great time to be there!

thanks again for the replies! Yes - I need to rent a car. Sadly I have a meeting for one or two of the days (half day meeting each day) I'm there so I'd prefer to have the "ease" of a rental car to get me to and from as quickly as I can so I don't miss too much WDW!

If I get to Epcot around 1:30, I will be thrilled! Before asking, I was guessing around 3...I have no reason for that guess, just what I thought. So, I'm excited I'll get 90 minutes or so more than I guessed on the first day. Can't wait.

Last year we arrived at airport at 11:10am and used ME to go to our resort, AKL. We were the last and final stop (3 resorts ahead of us) and arrived close to 1:30pm.

If you leave your bags with bell services do they put your bags in your room when your room is ready? Wasn't sure if they have to wait until you get back to the resort and tell them you are back before they will bring them? TIA!

I am so excited for you....we are going in Nov (staying at the BC) and I am getting so excited for our trip (1st anniversary). But we always take a 6 amish flt and we are always there in about 1-1:30 hours or so...we use ME and we always store oue luggage at Bell services and hit the parks, never had a problem. But we stay at the BC a lot and several times have actually been able to check right into our room then- either way, enjoy your first day at the Parks (Epcot is just a quick walk away and that is my favorite area) - have a great trip!
