Arrival day tickets?

Our flight arrives at 3:20pm, by the time we collect bags and get to the resort I suspect it will be closer to 5pm. Would you add a park ticket for this day on to our 5day tickets, or not? Assuming the park is open until 9pm or later, we could have a nice dinner and walk around for 4 hours. Or we could skip the park and have dinner at the resort then visit the pool. It looks like the cost difference is only $22 per person at that point. Thoughts?

I used to get a ticket for my arrival day because the cost is so cheap, but have not lately since you never know if the airline is going to be delayed or not. I have even stopped making ADRs for the arrival day also for that reason.

We arrive at 1:10 and we're planning to go to MK and stay for fireworks. We are early birds who rope drop and not good nappers so it might be the only day we aren't too tired to stay out late!

At that price, I would buy it with the expectation that it is not going to be a jam packed evening. I LOVE the parks after dark!

I used to get a park ticket for the first day, as others have said it’s relatively cheap, but more recently I’ve gotten into non-park options. Once I walked from Polynesian to MK, took boat to WL, back to MK and walked to Contemporary. Another time I took bus to HS, then Skyliner to Epcot, walked to Yacht Club, took bus to MK and monorail once around. I like seeing how many different modes of transportation I can do. Just a thought.
