I think we'll be getting into Orlando at 11ish (haven't booked the flight yet). We're staying at POFQ and my plan is to take the boat to DTD and then have dinner at 6:30 at Chef Mickey's. Does this make sense? Or should I instead make an ADR in DTD at TRex or another place?

Also, what do you recommend in DTD. I know that the Toy store and the Lego store are fun. We won't be doing DisneyQuest or Wild World of Sports. I am traveling with DH, and my 3 DDs, who will be 6, 4.5 and 7.5 months in March.

Our last trip, we went straight to the parks, but we're going to be in Orlando an extra day and I think the kids will enjoy the DTD boat ride (provided the weather cooperates - if it doesn't, I guess we'll take the bus to DTD or go to a park (I guess, Epcot is best in the rain).

Thanks!

My husband and I rode in the hot air balloon in DTD and really enjoyed that. The view is just amazing!

I'd stick to DTD.... Mixing CM into it makes for a lot of travel....

Arriving at 11a doesn't mean you'll be ready for fun at 12noon......

You'll have Plenty to do at DTD.... I've not eaten there (Other than Planet Hollywood) but there are certainly some great places to eat....

Have a magical visit !

Depending on what time we get settled into the hotel, we are probably going to the parks. It's like $5 extra per ticket for extra days. But DTD is a cool place, too. I haven't been there in years though!

What do you recommend? I was thinking of T-Rex... I can just move our CM ressie to breakfast another day.

We do DTD on our arrival day every trip. I think you could manage both DTD and then dinner at Chef Mickey's, we did it a few years ago with 3 little ones and it worked out fine, although we don't spend a ton of time shopping, maybe 2-3 hours tops. I like taking it easy on our arrival day and getting the kids to bed early so everyone is ready to hit the parks eaarly the next morning.

Thanks! I am torn about what to do.

Either way would work great. That is plenty of time to get to CM if you wanted to keep your dinner there or there are awesome places to eat at DTD. Rainforest Cafe would be something your DD's would probably enjoy, but TRex may be a little loud. We did it with DGS9months and he was ok in there, but it bothered me being so loud for him. Also, we love House of Blues. Everything we've tried there has been awesome!!

Although I do  DTD and the boat ride, I would stick to CM for my dinner or do RFC.

Here is my thinking... You arrive Orlando "11ish"....Get off plane, get luggage, find ME....
12noon ish - Travel from ME to resort....
1pm ish - Check in and find your room. Get luggage...unwind.... kids jumping on the beds....etc....:lmao:

2pm head through Resort to wait for and ride Bus to DTD....
3pm arrive DTD
6pm dinner....

That's my thinking on NOT planning the travel elsewhere... It surely can be done... just not what I'd want to do with 3 little ones...

I've eaten at Rainforest at AK and and Planet Hollywood at DTD... I put both in the same category... 80% Atmosphere / 20% food.... they are good to visit once... menus the same type of food IMHO...

I have read that T-Rex is a lot of fun... why don't you post a Dining Plan "Best place to eat at DTD with young kids".... I think the age of the kids is important.

You will be extremely lucky if your room is ready. I would not count on that, but you can certainly check in, leave your luggage and boat over to DTD. The Rainforest is also a lot of fun for kids. I would save CM for another day.
As a previous poster said, the hot air balloon is a fun thing to do. If you dont want to take the ride, you can at least watch it go up.

Have a great vacation.
