Arrival Day Lunch

I feel so needy to day. This is my third thread of the day. Anywho, we'll arrive around 11:45 am. We won't be going to the park, we'll probably hit up DD or a water park, weather permitting. We're staying at the Poly and would like to know what you would recommend for our first meal in the world? We're on the DxDP and would prefer a TS.

On arrival to the resort, my family and I always eat at the food court. The kids are so tired and hungry after so much traveling. As for a TS lunch, I am guessing you are planning your ADRs.......unfortunately I can't really help you when it comes to lunch. We are a family of big breakfast, snack, and big dinner people. Yes, in that order.

For TS dinner, we like Liberty Tree Tavern, Kona cafe, Crystal Palace was good.......Just a little something to get you going. Sorry if its not much.

We also hit up the CS at the resorts when we arrive because we're usually hungry after the flight. It's quick and easy, especially if you're waiting for your room to be ready. If you're going to DTD I might suggest Earl of Sandwich, it is a must for us.

If you are going to DD, I suggest Wolfgang Puck's place - he has one counter service IMarketplace side) and two TS (West Side). Always a great meal, and I've seen folks use the DP there. Raglan Road is also a good choice in DD.

However, it's a quicker option to just grab lunch at Captain Cook's in Poly and get moving faster when you arrive -that's typically what we would do as we would be anxious to get going and wouldn't want to sit down for a long lunch.

If you're staying at the Poly you could try Kona for lunch, my family really enjoys that restaurant. If going to DD, we all love Raglan Road! We went there for dinner on our last trip (Aug/Sep 2007) and everything was delicious! If you enjoy alcoholic drinks, the Celtic Sangria I had there was the best drink I had during our 10 day stay. Mmm...mmm good!!

What about Chef Mickey's for lunch? Or taking the monorail over to Epcot and having lunch at Le Cellier in Canada or Teppan Edo in Japan or San Angel Inn in Mexico?

If you are on the dining plan..and heading to dtd..check to see if Raglan Road is on the plan. That would be a great place to have lunch when you arrive.

Otherwise, I would probably pick Kona right at your resort.

I am undecided as to arrival day lunch also. Flight arrives around noon. Staying at Poly with DxDP. I hesitate to make an ADR as the time could really vary. Anyone have any thought abpout how likely would it be that we may be able to walk into Kona or Ohana at 2-3 PM ish and be seated? We do not have park passes for that day, so dinner is at 1900 Park Fare at 7 PM. Can't wait!!

Not likely at Ohana as they dont serve lunch

I was going to have our arrival lunch at DTD. We've tried EoS and WGPexpress and they were both great! But, then I was thinking I would prefer to eat at the Resort CS and swim a bit in the resort pool while waiting for our room to be ready.

Well be arriving 1130am on Oct 11 we have adrs for the Wave at Contempo Resort at Noon. maybe you can call disney dining and see what is available for the day you arrive. I'm sure most resort restaurant has availibilty

If it were me, I'd probably do Kona for lunch..but check on that because I can't remember if theya re open for lunch or not.

In DTD I'd do Raglan Road or Wolfgang Puck Express. It's actually considered a CS but there are tables. You order up front and they give you a number and a waiter brings your order when it's done. We had dinner there our first night last trip and we were very happy.

For a quick meal you can't beat Earl of Sandwich..but it sounds like you really do want to do a TS meal.

We always go to DTD for lunch, we love WPE...the best stuff ever

I'd take a chance on the Kona for a walk up lunch. That way ypu don't have to worry about check-in or airport delays. We have always been able to get a lunch time there. The food as great and ou would br able to enjoy the pool and soak up the Poly atmosphere,

Kona Cafe at the Poly. Who wants to travel far before they eat? And it's a great place!

Give Earl of Sandwich at DTD a try. We love it!

I would eat somewhere near the Poly. My suggestion would be Kona Cafe, but you could easily hop the monorail over to GF and do Grand Floridian Cafe.
