Out here in the country, our windshields get plastered with bug goo every summer. :crazy2:

I've seen those bug deflector strips that go across the top of the hood, and was thinking about getting one for my Highlander.

Does anyone have one of these, and do they work?

We had one on our Chevy Tahoe and we have one on our Nissan Armada and honestly while they may work some we still get a lot of bug splats on our windshield.

There were splats on the bug shield but in my estimation I think my front grill caught the most of them while driving to Las Vegas in April and then my windshield and then the bug deflector.

Personally I might buy one if they aren't extremely pricey but I don't see them doing much on the 2 cars we've owned/own.

Thanks, hydster.

I didn't think they would keep all the bug splatter off, either.

I think I'll just keep scraping them off with the cleaners when I get gas.

Not a prob! I think I'd just scrape them off when getting gas too!

Hey Deb... we live right there with you in bug splatter country..... We have a bug shield on our Windstar but I am not sure it does much good.

What DOES help is Rain-X. Not only does it bead up the water, it makes a slicker surface so the bug splatter is easier to get off. :thumbsup2
