I am sitting here calmly eating my paste umm I mean oatmeal :teeth: and my DD, 8, who slept next door at Grammy's last night comes in yelling Zack is so "freakin" mean. I think my blood pressure shot through my brain and at the same time I got another patch of gray's on my head...My angel, my sweetie, arrrg...DS, 17, had the good grace to keep a straight face at least! She is in her room and I back eating my paste ummm I mean oatmeal.

Do not laugh and do not yell. Quietly state you do not use those words and let it go. No reaction and no reinforcement and the words will stop. Laughter or yelling? Good luck. That's my best advice.

My 2 year old new favorite word is Damn It! She got it from me when the car door slammed close on me and I almost fell. Now every so often I hear her yelling at the cats or if she doesnt get what she wants its "damn it" and of course its perfectly clear!

Reminds me of a friend's son. I was helping them paint as they prepared to sell their home. A step ladder was set up in the kitchen. As I came down the hall I could hear the five-year-old... f'n bad guys, f'n bad guys. Over and over. I peeked around the corner. He was tossing a Woody beanie up to the top the ladder and would pop off with another f'n if Woody didn't land and stay on a step.

I snickered and retreated down the hall to get his mother. He continued with this routine and she was properly mortified. She went into the kitchen and asked him what he was saying - he kept going as she entered. He explained it was what she said at other cars in traffic. I'd ridden with her enough to know that she did not say that. Even if the kids weren't in the car.

She did, however, make liberal use of freaking. He got it right all on his own.

My hubby was standing at the fridge with the door open looking for something and my 5 yr old DD walks up behind him and says "what the he**(double hockey sticks) are you doing"? this was about an hour after he had told them(3 DD's) to shut the fridge- they were standing there just looking in the fridge for no reason.

Kids can pick it up from all over the place. Although I must admit I'm no angel.

best bet is to ignore and see if it continues.
