Around the World in 80 Days

It's 80 days before we head back to the World.

I just thought my thread title was slightly clever so that's why I decided to post this today. Maybe I'll post something about my trip every day.

Today's Fun Fact: My countdown today should have been at 149 days. Our trip was originally scheduled for Dec 3rd but it had to be rescheduled. Why? My wife got pregnant with our first child due Dec 14th.

Whoops. I was busy this weekend and missed the countdown.

79 days left (7/9/11).

Note about trip: There will be 10 of us on this trip. The largest group I've been with since I was a kid.

Note about trip: I'm looking forward to the enhancements to Haunted Mansion (my favorite ride). I've made it a point to not read any specifics regarding the new graveyard and hitchhiking ghosts.

Note about trip: This will be my first meal at Crystal Palace. I remember looking at it as a kid and thinking "Wow, that place must be expensive. I'll never get to eat there".

Note about trip: this will be my first time having a sit down meal in World Showcase. We're having dinner at Akershus.

Note about trip: I'm wondering how many rides I can get in on Star Tours so that I can try to see all the different scenes.

Note about trip: Dinner at Chef Mickey's will be my first time setting foot in the Contemporary.

Note about trip: I guess having DWs younger siblings with us (13, 12, 5 and 3) will be good practice for us.

Note about trip: My wife can't ride her favorite ride (TOT) since she's pregnant. I'll just have to ride it a few extra times "for her".

Note about trip: I'm buying a Mickey back scratcher this trip. My arms don't bend like they used to and it reminds me of my grandfather.

Note about trip: Staying at OKW. We're DVC and wanted AKL or something new but the sudden change in plans and points shuffling left us little options. However, the larger rooms are probably best for our group.

I missed yesterdays countdown. I was at the doctor's office with my wife finding out that WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!!

Note about trip: My first time at the Hoop de doo Review.

Note about trip: Gonna try the People Mover at night for the first time.

Note about trip: one of the few things I wasn't able to accomplish on my last trip was "find Devine". I'll try again this year.

Note about trip: Maybe I'll find the "hidden" paths while I'm looking for Devine.

Note about trip: seeing Myuki was the other thing I wasn't able to do last time.

Note about trip: wife plans to see Captain Eo the entire time we're in Epcot.

Note about trip: We get to buy baby stuff this year.

62 days to go (2 months).

Note about trip: I've only been in the Tiki Room twice. The 2nd time was October of last year. The 1st time was May of last year in Disneyland. I can't wait to see the Under New Old Management.
