Arnold running for Governor!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't there been past speculation about Arnold Schwarzenegger running for Governor sometime in the future before the recall effort began?

Only thing about Arnold running is that he seems to be taking the whole thing pretty seriously and he's not "willing to do it as a goof" like Gary Coleman is quoted here. Besides, either of them probably stand a better chance than Larry Flynt.

Arnold can't do much worse then the current guy, so why not? You never know, he may have a knack for it! If I was in Calli, I'd vote for him! I'd invite him to come to Jersey & run! We have a crook in office here!

Not a Californian here, but just wanted to comment that if nothing else happens, Arnold may be the one to get the people out to vote. Especially the 18-25 group that everyone seems to think doesn't take voting seriously and just doesn't vote. He's a high profile person who may draw those people into the political situation and have them actually vote.

And crazy as it sounds, he probably will have a good chance at this.

I think the best part is that he will not have to make promises to special interest groups or people who have their own "agenda" (who would make a large campaign fund donation) to raise enough money to run. He's already said that he doesn't need to raise money for his campaigning since he has plenty.

I just hope he also won't forget about the "little people" like you & me who live in California. (Well, I used to live there, but had to move so that we could afford housing!)

By the way, when I lived in California, I used to see Arnold & Maria around a lot. They really are embedded in their community & my friend see's the Schwarzenegger family in church almost every week. (They attend the same church in Santa Monica.)

Arnold has been politically active for years - I don't find this surprising at all.
