Arm Pain Question

I online is not a good place for medical advice. I am just kind of looking for opinions. I am just wondering if anybody has experienced anything similar and if there are any simple tricks to fix it... My DH is less than helpful because all he says is, if you are worried about it, go to an urgent care. I would feel kind of silly about doing that really, there are people who need attention much more than I do.

The thing is my elbow is killing me when I bend my arm. It is KIND OF sore to the touch. It feels almost as if something is ripping underneath the skin when I bend my arm. It feels almost as gross as it hurts. The pain seems to radiate down my forearm. I noticed today that while sitting at my desk at work that moving my mouse around seems to aggravate it about as bad as anything. It is not an ache or anything, it is triggered by movement.

Has anybody experienced anything similar, and if so how did you remedy that?

Thanks,

I get something called cubital tunnel, which is a weird funny bone type nerve pain from my elbow down to my ring finger. I have to work on not making repetitive movements or leaning my arm against things as I use the computer. While it seems to be a long term issue, it comes and goes in flares and it generally settles down in a week or so if I'm careful.

I had the same thing months ago...it hurt like the devil when I would accidentally lean or put any pressure on it. Luckily it went away and am pain free now.

Either some sort of tendinitis or nerve pain. Not uncommon in the elbow area due to computer use. I also used to have something similar happen when my kids where younger and I was doing a lot lifting with an "out of shape" arm. Kind of used to jack my elbow up all the time.

I agree that urgent care is not the place for this. If it's really bothering you, just make an appointment with an orthopedic specialist. They will cofirm a true diagnosis/exactly which tendon or nerve might be affected and probably set you up with a good brace and some anti-inflammatories.

In my area, we have a large orthopedic practice that realizes that people get hurt all the time and they have their practice set up so you can get an appointment within a day or two if you're hurting with something.

I would go to an orthopedic doc. Probably some sort of tendon pull. Most likely they would say to ice it and rest it and take some sort of pain reliever/anti-inflamatory, but they may even give you something stronger for the pain or something to mobilize it so it can heal.

Yes, time to see an orthopedist. Besides what’s mentioned above, they may refer you to PT.
