Hi lancerguys.

have you been to arizona?

Yes - I made a wrong turn in Las Vegas.

Actually, Arizona is quite beautiful. Took my son to The Hoover Dam. Prior to September 11th, we were able to take "the hard hat tour." Absolutely spectacular. There was an hour's time difference between Nevada and Arizona. So on the middle of the dam, I stood in 5pm while my son stood in 4pm. He was thrilled at the concept. He also enjoyed my imitation of Chevy Chase's Las Vegas vacation - "where's the damn dam tour","let's grab a bite at the dam restaurant", "do you wanna buy some dam pictures"...

We also travelled another time to Williams, Arizona. Walked a little of Route 66 and enjoyed the pool at The Fray Marcos Hotel. The next day we took The Grand Canyon Railway to Phoenix. Not really. lol. I was just checking to see if you were paying attention. We took The Grand Canyon Railroad to The Grand Canyon. Rode horseback in the Joshua Tree forest, cooked dinner over a campfire, viewed hidden indian caves and slept overnight at The El Tovar Hotel.

weather is the best in the country

Let's not overdo it...

oh man, he is going to be a sun devil. I live in tucson, and we are HUGE arizona wildcat fans. no I am kidding, arizona state is great. the campus is really, really nice. I go up their all the time. like it is in tempe, which is a kind of big city, but the campus is set away. it's a typical college town. he will love it

ok, so you really know your Arizona stuff. Hoover Dam is fabulous. I have been there twice and I love it every time I go. Last time we went we were not able to take the hard hat tour. I would have loved it. Chevy Chase is a classic in that..."where's the dam bait???" No kidding, I have only been to the Grand Canyon once. it's the type of thing where you can only go once. but I went when I was younger and I took the Grand Canyon Railroad (to phoenix of course) with my parents. In fact, I still have the glass coke bottle they gave out. one of my teachers ran the entire canyon, about 22 miles. and you are right, the weather isn't the best. we have no autumn, which I really miss. but, the winter is never bad, I cant remember the last time it even snowed, and right now it is 75, 80 and sunny all the time. what else is better

Hey Dawn Hope!

I thought there was no Arizona, no painted deserts, no Sedona...

I think you're confusing this with life aboard the Magic: they have no Arizona ICED TEA yet they do have painted DESSERTS.

And Seadona? Of course...

Lancerguys,
I've been to AZ three times. Twice with the Marching Band I am an instructor for. I was just there for New Years. I have to tell you I enjoy visiting AZ very much. The weather is fantastic in the winter and spring, but I couldn't handle it in the summer! When my group marches in the Fiesta Bowl parade, I love how the people ask how the weather is back in NY. This year we had two feet of snow on the Christmas day, which made us worry about flying out on the 26Th. But we made it. When you tell people that live in AZ about two feet of snow, they have this look on their face "oh you poor things!". Another thing that is neat about doing the parade is that there are so many New Yorkers that now live in AZ. They yell and scream for our band because we represent a little bit of home!

I have to admit-- my favorite spot in AZ is Sedona..........

Lived in Apache Jct. & Mesa 10 years, and go back once a year plan on moving back once our son is finished with school and on his own... IT IS THE BEST WEATHER THERE IS "I'ts a "DRY" heat!!!!"

My mother was raised in Arizona (Phoenix), so I spent a lot of time there as a child. (Alas, a long time ago) We never went to the Grand Canyon, mainly because my mother had terrible vertigo and almost fell off the edge one time, so she would never go back. My grandmother would take us hiking on Camelback all the time. She loved the desert!

BD, you take the greatest vacations! See you on the Magic!

Linda

Lancerguys....we live in Cave Creek, Arizona. It's a little western tourist town north of Phoenix. We actually do have a cave and a creek! We live at the base of Elephant Butte Mountains, right next to the creek, and it is beautiful here. Most people have heard more about our neighboring town, Carefree. I'm with Buckeroo's Dad, only one place better than this......DCL!

I live on the northeast side. do you notice the lancer sn. its because I go to salpointe. and I do have to agree with all of you, the only thing better is cruisin' with mickey. luckily, I am going this summer, so I get to miss the 115 degree weather. but it's a dry heat, so who cares? but anyway, go cats!!!
