Arizona Third Week of November?

We found out today that we may have to push our October trip back, due to DH's job. I started looking around online & priced out November in Grand Canyon. The first two weeks are mostly sold out, but there are several options for the 3rd week. The rates are much less than we currently have booked, which made me wonder, if there was a reason for that. Is that not a desirable time to visit?

We'll also be going to Sedona, Scottsdale, Monument Valley, Bears Ears NM, Canyon de Chelly & Painted Desert. Is the third week of November a bad time to visit any of these? We'll postpone until next year, if the experience will be less than it would have been in October.

When in October were you originally pricing? Many Arizona schools take a fall break in mid-October (in Tucson this year it is the week of October 7). So that may have raised some prices?

Our October trip is supposed to be the 18th to 27th.

Do you think the experience will be similar in both months? If not, how different? We only plan to go once, so we don't want to go at the wrong time of year.

I have not been to all the places you are going, but would expect the temperatures to be a bit cooler (and in my opinion more pleasant, especially for Scottsdale and Sedona) in November vs October. Higher-elevations near the Grand Canyon might be coldish at night, could possibly see snow in November. Which part of the Grand Canyon are you wanting to visit? I think the North Rim shuts down after mid-October.

I have been to Sedona in December and found it very pleasant. My family also got stuck in a blizzard at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon one Christmas break (which as someone from Tucson where it never snows felt like the best thing ever).

For me the cooler temps, cheaper costs, and less crowds would be ideal, but it may really depend on what you are hoping to do. If you don't get much response here maybe try some forums dedicated so some of the places you mentioned (I usually go to Trip Advisor) and share what types of activities you are planning for advice.

Thanks for the additional info. We plan to spend our time at GC on the South Rim. Will the views in all/most locations be the same in Nov?

I have been to Northern AZ many times in mid to late November. Generally pleasant weather with lighter crowds. It's a sunny part of the country, so usually nice days and crisp mornings with the mountain air.

Go enjoy. I would not recommend rescheduling unless something you want to do isn't operating then.
