Hello!

I'm trying to decide between dining at Artist Point or the Yachtsman. I've never been to either restaurant. Can you offer your thoughts?

Thanks!

I've been to both and they are both great - I wouldn't say one is better than the other. It depends what you want to eat. The Yachtsman is a really good steakhouse with high quality steak. We also enjoyed the scallop appetizer there. But I wouldn't go if I didn't want a real steak dinner. So if you want something other than steak, I'd pick the Artists Point. The food there is outstanding and the menu quite varied. I have had a duck appetizer that was just great, mussels appetizer and the salmon entree. You won't go wrong either way.

Very tough choice, but I'd give AP the edge. Its a very different menu - something that you're not likely to be able to find at home - so its an opportunity to try some new and interesting things.

We usually go to Yachtsman twice each trip, but feel standards are slipping lately. We cancelled our second visit to Yachtsman in April and chose AP as a replacement as we hadn't been in a while. It was outstanding! Definitely our meal of the fortnight. We will still return to Yachtsman though, we've had so many great meals there in the past, we'll keep hoping it gets back to how it was. :)

Would get my vote, though AP is great also.:goodvibes Danny

They're both classy, and the food is top notch. AP might be a slight cut above.
Why not do BOTH! :thumbsup2

Artist Pointe gets my vote, but since my mother works there (she's a seater) I am probably a tad bit biased:rolleyes:

Went to both last trip and both were very good. I would give Yachtsman the edge if you have younger children since the menu is a little more typical whereas Artist Point has some unusual choices. I also thought that the atmosphere at Artist Point was a little more formal. On the plus side for Artist Point, you can walk through the amazing lobby of the WL to get there. In the end, either is a great choice.

Artist Point has phenomenal seafood choices with a northwestern flare. The food quality was absolutely terrific, service great and the atmosphere wonderful.

I have been to both several times. I give AP a slight edge due to the somewhat out of the ordinary menu and the wine list (featuring some interesting selections from Oregon and Washington). I like the "look and feel" of YS better. Either way, you can't go wrong.
