 I am confused....I know years back, there was an Ariel's in the Yacht and Beach Club, though I knew they closed it. It seems though, after looking through people's posts, that some brides are planning on their reception being at Ariel's. However, I cannot find any info on it on the internet. Is it open or not? If it is, can someone send me a link to where I can find out more info on it (menus, etc.). Thanks!

Hi! I dont actually have any information on it but i know it is still there!
I went for a site visit in September and went there. My Sales Manager told me that it is no longer open to the public, it is just used for private functions now so it is possible to have your wedding reception there!
Im sure other people on here have more information about the venue and menus!

Thanks Laura! That would be great if someone could let me know what is on the menu or any other information. Thanks guys! pixiedust:

Hi,

We are getting married at SBP with a reception at Ariel's. We are having a brunch buffet for 35 people. All of the menus I recieved were from the Yacht & Beach Club Catering Facility. I'm sorry I don't have them here on my laptop.

Ariel's at one time was a resturaunt but know is used for private functions. Here are some pics from my site visit in Sept 2005:

I'm clueless about this, but can intimates book at Ariel's? I thought there would be a minimum number of guests for someone to use it?

Intimate's cannot book at Ariel's, that would be considered a private reception. You would have to be a custom wedding.

Thanks Ashley! I was pretty sure intimates couldn't do this. From the different posts of the OP I would think that she'd be better off to do a small custom wedding. A lot of the stuff she has inquired about are customs only kind of things ;)

Thanks for the pics....it looks very beautiful. And no, I wasn't aware that only customs could book at Ariel's. So it looks like the choices are narrowed down to Yachtsman Steakhouse, or a restaurant at GF...... :Pinkbounc

Hey Courtney! I just wanted to send you this link. It lists all the resort restaurants, along with their menus. It's definitely helped us in our planning.

also here is a photo gallery of the restaurants...

I hope this helps!

You might want to double check on this but I was speaking with my sales manager and mentioned I was thinking about Atlantic Dance Hall or Ariels for my custom wedding. She told me that Ariels will no longer be an option as a venue in 2007. She explained that the hotel will be using it for other functions. So with that information it was easy for me to decide on the ADH.

Yes this what I was told as well.

like others have said, ariels is not open to public but it is used for private functions ie meetings & wedding receptions. ariels does have a 25 person minimum.

we are having our reception at ariels this march 21st! it is so beautiful. ariels uses the yacht & beach club catering menus there are some here http://www.yourfairytale.com/cateryc.html
but you can also customize your menu, we did.

I wish this were not true and you all know Disney likes to change thier minds but my Consultant said it will not be available for weddings as of late 2006 early 2007(unless the contract has already been signed)???? :worried:

that Ariel's was closing for a while for renovations to make it over completely from a restaurant-style kitchen to a banquet-style kitchen. I don't know if that is the only change they plan on making, or if there will be changes to the public areas as well.

When Bob and I were looking at a Custom Wedding, Ariel's had been my first choice... :(

I just had a conversation with my consultant about Ariel's. We are thinking of using it for a wedding in January 2008. Heidi, my consultant, said that the YC has it blocked off, but that it wasn't being used for an event. She said that she would contant the YC and see if it would be possible to use it for my event. She did say that they were looking to stop using it as an option, but that she would try for me. I should know next week if we can use it or not.

I hope this helps...

this is an old post...I was searching for pictures of Ariel's and thought that this was from this year :guilty:

I feel silly now :rolleyes1

Don't feel silly! I found it interesting reading - I learned that this idea of turning Ariel's into a regular restaurant has been in the works for more than a year! Funny that it'll be 2008 before they finally get around to it...
