Ariel's sit down reception?

I was wondering if anyone has had a sit down reception at Ariel's and how that was? I called Disney Weddings to see if it is just buffet or you can do sit down too bc I am waiting to find out who my Wed. Coordinator is. But the girl I spoke with didn't seem too confident in what she was saying. Is it a limited menu for a sit down? I originally said I was interested in the Sonoma room at CG but may consider this if the sit down sounds good? Also does anyone know how long it takes for the coordinator to call you back after you give the initial info? Thank you for any help.

I think Ariel's is only buffet service. We had our welcome dinner there and had a buffet. It was an amazing set up and by far the nicest buffet service I have ever seen.

I have heard that this is buffet only. We are deciding between Ariels and Atlantic Dance Hall for our brunch reception. We happen to love buffets so this works out well for us. I hope people will mingel more at a buffet. If we chose Ariels we are planning a pre-reception at Marthas Vinyard Lounge - right next door.

Actually my wedding coordinator Bill called right after I posted this and confirmed it is only buffet so whoever I talked to did not know what they were talking about. But I got all the things I wanted: SBP, Sonoma for reception dinner and UK lower for dessert party! Yay!

Yes, Ariel's is buffet only and it may not be available for much longer. It's only being released to DFTW month by month right now. Our coordinator says that Disney is definitely going to refurbish it sometime in the next coming year or so but they haven't worked out exactly when.

Aww, bummer. I was hoping someone might've had success getting Disney to modify an Ariel's reception to a plated meal instead of buffet.

DF and I had Ariel's in mind as a top choice for our reception location until we realized it's listed as buffet only. We were wishfully thinking maybe we could convince Disney to do plated meal heh.
