I heard rumor of Ariels Grotto going through a renovation, keeping it a princess theme but calling it something else. Has anyone heard this? Do you know when this is supposed to be happening? I wanna book Ariel's Grotto in the next few weeks for my upcoming end of May/Early June trip but I wanna make sure that I wont have an issue making reservations for that time because of renovations.

This is the first time I've heard that rumor, and I doubt they'd take it down for a rehab in this busy summer season. Especially not if the rumor is true that they might sell premium seating for World of Color in the outdoor section of Ariel's Grotto restaurant!

The rehab rumor would go together with the rumor I did hear of Ariel doing meet-and-greets by her new ride (when it opens), if that rumor is true. It doesn't make that much sense for DCA to have two significant spaces devoted to Ariel, and it would make absolutely no sense for them to have two meet-and-greet spaces. (Though I only heard the meet-and-greet rumor once so that may not be true, fair enough. :flower3: )

Anyway, I really think you're fine but as a planner, if I were you, I'd just think of a back-up reservation you'd make on the off chance that Ariel's isn't open (such as Goofy's Kitchen or a breakfast, or even a regular Table Service restaurant). Then you don't have to worry because you're even prepared for the unexpected.

Have a great trip!

Thanks I do have a back up. We have vouchers for Goofy's already but we wanna do one more character meal. We all thought Ariels would be fun.

To me it makes sense to have the Ariels Grotto restaurant beside the ride. Kinda flows with the theme of it all. Who know what they will do with the meet and greet areas. Either way its going to be amazing.

Apparently not just a rumor but a real project.

YES THANKS!! Thats the name I was looking for. "Princess Palace". Its probably one of those projects that is put on hiatus for now.

Does anyone know they outdoor seating is available currently?

I really hope Ariel's Grotto is still open the end of this October! I so want to take DD there!

I thought I would update my answer. Yes, it is. I ate there Wednesday for breakfast and outdoor seating was available when I called in earlier in the week. The food was good and the princesses were great. If you know when you are going book it, especially if you want a certain seating area. Some reservation times only had one or the other (outdoor/indoor).

:goodvibes Thank you for the heads up. I hope I can get outdoor seating.

I doubt the "retheming" would take it down for very long. I don't remember it being overly Ariel themed. They'd change the sign, maybe switch up the decor a little....of course I could have totally missed sea shell themed carpet or something! :confused3
