I saw people talking about this on another thread, and I didn't realize that they did breakfast. Do they offer it before the park opens? Any reviews?

We had pretty much decided not to do a character meal, but I'd be interested in doing this one.

Im anxious to learn more about it also. We did Goofys kitchen ,last year for breakfast and really enjoyed it. Thinkin bout Ariels or Lilo and Stitch this time but having a hard time deciding. I think Ariels opens at 7:30??? thought I read that somewhere

I'd really like to see a lot of pictures of all the different food items (not so much the characters). I remember seeing quite a few of them somewhere - maybe in a Trip Report - but can't recall where. Pictures of food make a big impact in helping people make their decisions, I think!

We just did Ariel's last week, and I was really surprised by how nice it was. We did have PS for 9:40 on a day that DCA opened at 10; we had no trouble getting there, although we had to walk along Grizzly River Trail (is that what it's called back there?) to get there instead of just going straight there.

We were seated immediately after taking a picture with Ariel, who was very sweet. OUr server immediately brought us plates with pastries, cheeses, and fruits. After she brought our drinks, she brought us a large pan fulled with scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage, and bacon. The food was all very good, and I loved eating family style and having everything right there rather than hoofing it to the buffet every time one of the kids wanted another peice of watermelon or whatever. There was more than enough food for all of us.

The character interaction was a lot of fun, and the princesses were all very nice- especially Mulan. We met Mulan, Cinderalla, Snow White, and Aurora (in addition to Ariel).

I had eaten at Ariel's in 2007 before they changed the menu, and I had not enjoyed it at all, but on this occasion, it was the best character meal of our trip. We also ate at Goofy's and Minnie & Friends. Everything was better at Ariel's.

MMMM Ariel's Grotto for breakfast. :) YUM!! We liked it a lot, but then we just like AG a lot. :) We had a PS well before the park opened, we checked in a the gate and then followed the Grizzly River Trail and made it to AG to eat. :) The food was good, the Princesses are always great and we had an amazing time. :)

After you mentioned that I remembered that I actually had taken one picture of the food. *g*
I realize it's not one of the best photos around, but I only remembered last minute to snap a picture at all. They distracted me from food porn by serving me a birthday dessert, that wasn't fair. :rotfl:
Also it's a lunch item, but maybe it's good for a first impression after all.

The white shells are white chocolate, really good. The one at the back did contain some fresh berries.

The one in the middle is actually in the form of a seahorse, I almost didn't have the heart to eat it. The cake it is sitting in is chocolate. I'm not sure what the term is for that type, but I think my friends called it molten lava cake.

The small cakes with the raspberries are some sort of cheesecake. I think those were my favorites.

The small pieces with the whipped cream in the front are also some sort of chocolate cake.

The brownish things are also kind of chocolatey, but with almonds. They are more dry, more like cookies.

I'm afraid I don't have more pictures of the food, I usually only remember for the important stuff - meaning dessert items. ;)

Thank you so much for posting that, Vala!:goodvibes Those look goooood. I don't even like cheesecake, but those little ones are tempting. I go through my long phases where I could not care less about sweets but then I go through phases where I am craving cake and ice cream and chocolate. I LOVE white chocolate and chocolate cake, so anything that involves those would be okay with me! Bye bye, Mr. Seahorse! Down the hatch! You're going to disappear now!:lmao:

We didn't get a seahorse in ours, we got a slice of white chocolate in the shape of a mermaid with Ariel on it. :) And yes, it's stuck in a molten lava cake, all chocolatey and good. ;) DD9 got most of that and the shell too. Oh man, that dessert tray was good!!!

The white shell had raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and strawberries falling out of it. YUM!!!!!

Then there the chocolate lava cake with the white chocolate stuck in it.

Then the 3 little cheesecakes which I loved but DBF didn't like so much so I got the last one cuz the kids don't like cheesecake either. lol

The bars are chocolate chip cookie stix and they were good. Kinda dry but still good.

The ones in front are smores bars, they have graham cracker in them, chocolate sauce drizzled on top and marshmallows on top.

I know this only because we ate there on Sunday and the dessert tray was super yummy! LOL

I have a question about checking in. Do you just go up and say "We have PSs" and the CMs just believe you or is there some sort of proof (I don't know what proof you would have) that they need?? How does this work?

If it works in CA as it does at WDW, you tell them you have PS and they check your name against a list of people who have PS that morning.

oh we are doing this next month. i'm a little miffed that you can't eat there earlier. but i'm still excited about it. this is probably the last year my dd will be this into princesses.

We checked in with the CM, they had a clipboard and checked our name and ressie time then let us in. It was really quick and easy because no one was over there since the park doesn't open until 10. LOL

Earlier? What time were you hoping for? Did you call Disney Dining to see how early you could get in?

yeah they don't open till like 9:40 or something!

that is practically lunch time for me. lulz. (now i sound like a senior citizen!)

We are going to try and dine here in May...will be bringing my 6 year old nieces (twins...:goodvibes )...they have never been to DL but have been to WDW 3 times and LOVE the princesses, especially Aurora and Ariel...I can't wait!!!princess:

Oh, that's good to know that they changed this to the shell. My picture is from last November. I might rather have the heart to eat a shell than bite the head off a pretty seahorse. ;)

I'm glad I remembered at least one name of a cake right. Besides the cheesecake I didn't know any of the things on the tray.

I got a small lava cake as my birthday dessert too. It was really good.

I'm not a big cheesecake fan either, but I loved these. Our version of cheesecake is much more heavy and filling than these were.

Oh no, the shell is still there but they changed the seahorse to Ariel. So instead of biting the head off a seahorse you're biting the head off of Ariel. LOL No worries, you have a good memory from November. :) I just posted the right descriptions because we had just eaten there and I remembered it all. :)

LOL no worries, it's shaped like a mermaid now. It's very pretty and very tasty. :)
