Ariel's Closing in 2009?

According to Anita Answer over at All Ears, Ariel's closed in 1997. Apparently, people not being happy with the prices and thought it was more geared to children because it was named after a character.

She does not, however, say anything about it being re-opened as a regular restaurant.

I was going to say ladies, my reception was at Ariel's in Nov 2006 at that time, on these boards, I heard they were going to stop using Ariels after 2006 as a wedding receptionlocation, which led me to believe that our reception would be one of the last...it may be one of those crazy Disney Rumors like when the MGM Boat drivers tell you the black area at the Swan and Dolphin were originally where the monorail was going to come through. So it may be true or it could be just a crazy Disney Myth!

My reception was in Ariel's in 2004 and as early as Oct 2003, when we started planning our wedding, rumors were flying about them taking it away as a convention/event location and restoring it to a restaurant. It seems to go around every year and they push it back for another year, so hopefully they will push it back again, so you ladies can enjoy the beautiful space...it's a perfect reception location for a smaller wedding!

I agree with everyone else -- I, too, have been reading of Ariel's "closing" for quite a few years. If it does come to fruition, I hope it doesn't impact anyone's event. The venue looks lovely (I've peeked at it through the windows and from the front entrance).
