I just checked www.touringplans.com to see if the time I was going down to WDW was still getting 5's and now it's all 7's. I can't believe it went up so much in like a month's time. The time I'm going by the way is Nov. 6th - 11th.

I think w/ Vetrans Day in there a lot of school's have time off. I know my son is off for a 5 day weekend next week. This may have something to do w/ the higher crowd levels.

You can blame the 7's on the folks from New Jersey, oh wait I see you're from NJ as well. :rotfl2:

Anyway, it seems do to the popularity of Jersey Week tour guide mike and UG have both up the rating of how busy it will be.

Consensus seems to go early and it won't be a problem. I'm keeping my fingers crossed as we leave Friday. :cool1:

Don't know if this will make you feel better, but we just came back from 8 days in the parks. 3 of them were rated as "7" and the parks were not that bad. Granted, crowds might not have actually been at a level of 7, but we were fine. The only other time we have been was in January where EVERYTHING was walk on. I was thinking the worst. We were at MGM, Epcot, and AK on the days that were rated as 7's and it wasn't that bad. The stand by for ToT was an hour in the middle of the afternoon, but RnRC was 30 minutes. We got FP's for ToT and by the time we were finished at RnRC it was nearly time for ToT. Really not horrible at all.

What was horrible was MK on a Wednesday with a crowd level of 6! :earseek:

Have a great trip!! :)

Jackskellingtonsgirl, I'm glad to hear that the parks weren't that crowded, even though they were given a 7.

It's just weird, because I probably only checked about a month ago at most and the dates I'm going were rated a 5. I think one day was actually rated a 4. I went last year too during Jersey week and I didn't think the parks were that bad, certainly not a 7. Oh well, I'll have fun anyway :)

On a bright note, MK is opened an hour later than originally posted, so that's something to look forward to.

::MickeyMo I've never thought Jersey week was crowded. In fact, whenver we've gone, it's been some of the slowest times. ::MinnieMo

Where do you check on that site?

When you click on the link, you'll see a skinny column outlined in black. Click on the phrase that starts with "updated calendar ..." written in orange and you can look up dates starting from now into the end of 2006.

Hi folks,

Two of the things we use to estimate crowds are the Magic Kingdom's operating hours for both the specific day, and the specific week. (And Disney adjusts the MK's hours based on their projected hotel occupancy, so it's a decent proxy for attendance.)

Although our model is predicting 7s, which correspond to peak waits of 65 to 74 minutes at the MK's headliner attractions, my gut feeling is that this is a bit high. Waits for the past couple of weeks are generally peaking in the 40 minute range, and I don't think enough people from New Jersey are going to show up to give a 60% jump in crowds. My hunch is that we'll see waits of around 50 to 60 minutes next week.

In any event, we'll have people in the parks all week to track the impact of "Jersey Week," so that when it rolls around next year, we'll be able to quantify it in more detail.

Hope this helps!

Len

We'll be there next week too. We were also there last year during "Jersey Week" and really did not find it too crowded - it was during the F&WF at Epcot and that was really OK too. This year, though, Jersey Week also falls during the Super Soap Weekend at MGM 11/12 and 11/13, so that might account for higher hotel occupancy, don't know.

Thanks for the explanation. By the way, you have a great site :)

Thanks Len,

I thought it was awfully crowded when we went - but I forgot the crowd levels are indicative to the wait times of the popular attractions, in which case your calendar was spot on for our week!!
