ARGHHH!! No AAA rooms available...

I have been debating on whether AAA is worth joining especially for the Disney discounts. We are AP holders but rates have not been released yet for our stay. Ok, I called this morning to find out what the rate would be for our existing reservation April 23-30 using AAA discount and got a quote and all. Got on AAA website and noticed they had no fee and free spouse for signing up, so I decided the $51 was worth it. I called Disney back about an hour after I first called and wanted to apply the AAA discount to my existing reservation since I then had a AAA membership number, and what did she tell me, there were no AAA discounts available for when we are going. I could of screamed. I told her I was under the impression when I called earlier that there were rooms available (though the first CM gave me the quote but said nothing about room availability which led me to believe there were still rooms available - which I know is partly my fault for assuming she would of told me if none were available). I asked if it is possible for any AAA discounts to open up or once they were gone they were gone. She said that I should call back and keep checking because some might come available. I told her I was holding out for AP rates anyways but wanted a little discount incase none are released. She said she thought they might be released the middle of this month when value season is over. Either way I am still sitting here with a rack rate room for CSR. Is it true that AAA rates will pop up even if none are available now?

My next question: If I can get no discounts I don't want to pay rack rate for a moderate when I am just as happy in a value resort. So should I book 2 reservations, 1 for value and 1 for moderate incase no codes come out then cancel the value if they do, or gamble and chance that codes do come out?

Don't fret You haven't wasted your AAA membership $$$.

I would call back again and ask a DIFFERENT cast member to apply AAA discount to your reservation. If not available ask what is available for your dates. If AAA rate not available for your dates at any moderate or value resort that you like, then change your reservation to a value... you may get a miracle discount when the cm hears you are changing to value. Ask and ask again about "Any discounts available? Are there any codes listed under my name? Have I missed any email or post card codes that have been issued to me?"

Then when and if other codes come out call and change your reservation back to CSR if that's what you want. I wouldn't make two reservations b/c you would have to have two deposits.

When I'm looking for room discounts, I always call with a mental list of resorts I want to stay at so I'm not heartbroken when the AP or AAA rates aren't available. Being a little flexible can save you bundles

We faced a very similar situation. Our CM said no AAA discount available and even if there was, it would not save us much money. Well to make a long story short, we booked with CM then called AAA travel. Doing so, we were able to book the same resort for the same dates and save $222. We then cancelled the first reservation without any problem whatsoever...

I highly recommend calling AAA direct if you are going to use their discounted rate...

We tried three different sets of dates at the end of April/beginning of May requesting a AAA rate and they had nothing at all. The CM told me it was a very busy time because of the Celebration and Mother's Day.

Odd...I called a CM a month or two ago for July and they had plenty of AAA rooms. We are staying at POP for the first time.

Same thing happened to me. We are going to CBR in June and booked 2 rooms at rack rate with a perferred location(it is important to me with the two little kids). So I called back with my number and they said there was only one's available for non perferred locations.
