Cape may for breakfast or Chef Mickeys? and why? :confused3

Tutto Italia or Rose and Crown? at Epcot and why? we always do san angel inn, but may change it up a bit....

Also, we did Jiko and Cali Grill and Crystal Palace in april, and want to try a different resort dining....Artist Point? We are a family of 5 this trip, me, DH, 2 DSs, and DMIL. We are going august 16, but not on free dining....I am a detail kinda girl so any and ALL suggestions on these <or other?> restaurants would be great. I am interested in Narcooses and Spirit of Aloha, but think I will save that for the trip in april without the kids! :lovestruc

Chef Mickey's brkfst is a must do for us. We have very good character interaction with the Fab 5: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy & Pluto. There is a nice buffet selection & the food is pretty good. We also enjoy the fun, upbeat atmosphere of Chef Mickey's - it's a great way to start off the day. Cape May has good character interaction, but there are only 3 characters there: Minnie, Goofy & Donald. Cape May has a nice, relaxed atmosphere, but the buffet is rather limited compared to Chef Mickey's.

I would say the breakfast choice depends on your plans for the rest of the day: MK or Epcot? I'm a big fan of Rose and Crown. If you time the ADR right you can tell the hostess that you are willing to wait for the next available waterside table. There is no better view of Illuminations. Also, as a New Yorker I'm snobbish about Italian food so I'll pass on Tutto.

Thanks for the input...anymore? what do you guys think about Artist Point?

We like both those breakfasts, but prefer Chef Mickey's for the more interesting food selections and awesome character interaction. I agree with the PP who suggested that your park plans for the day will also help with that decision.

We are Italian, so we'd rather eat at Rose and Crown Pub for something different - we really enjoyed our dinner there.

We've never been to Artist Point, but with kids, Whispering Canyon Cafe is a fun option.

We love Cape May but think Chef Mickey's has better food and you get to see 2 more characters.

Tutto is a must do, Rose & Crown menu doesnt thrill me

I really liked Artist Point the one time I was there. It hasn't become a must-do for my family, but I thought the food was delish, especially the mussels appetizer. Not sure if there's much for kids, though (since the youngest in our group is 23).

But, I wasn't a fan of Narcoossee's when I was there. Everything we ordered, our waiter suggested something else, and we were watching other plates go by, and it seemed it was all the same. So, either we were just out of the loop for wanting something else, or they always recommend just 2 dishes because those are the only good ones....But I'd do Artist Point over Narcoossee's any day.

We went to Rose and Crown and to us it was just ok. Definitely not a must do. We're trying Tutto this year. Also we loved Chefs de France.

For your other choices...definitely try Narcoosses! We went there last year and was one of our favorite meals! Delicious!

fan of Artist Point though we have skipped it the last couple of trips. I don't think my kids would appreciate the pace of the meal with the parks so close.

I usually had late breakfast at the CBR, but for lunch Tony´s is a good choice (same as Mama Melrose) and dinner at the California Grill on the 15th floor with the sight of the fireworks is unbeatable

my 2 cents

I was just at Cape May for breakfast a week ago and I can honestly say that it was nothing special. The food choices were very basic: eggs, waffles, bacon, etc. Three characters walked around for a bit...bleh.

I have not done breakfast at Chef Mickey's but I have done dinner several times with the kids and we loved it. Buffet was larger, so more selection and there were a few extra characters. They would play special music, have a parade and line dancing. Great character interactions.

Thank you so much, everyone, you guys rock! :rockband:

Any suggestions on somewhere other than Rose and Crown to catch Illuminations?

Cape May has a great breakfast, but the characters are more fun at Chef Mickey's!

And I'd definitely pick Tutto Italia, but that's just because I prefer Italian food.
