ARGH!! SW checkin

I agree with the other posters - you will not have a problem boarding as a family.

When we flew home last year from Orlando, we had just gotten off the WOnder and had to get our boarding passes the old fashion way - by standing in line!

Well, we got 5 'A' passes and our then 9 yo got a 'B' - I jokingly asked the lady at the desk if we were to just leave her to fend for herself while we all boarded and she said "no" just take her with you!

SWA is not in the business to make people's lives miserable! They are just trying to be fast and efficient when boarding an airplane, after you have flown with them a couple of times you will worry a lot less about the baording passes.

Now that being said - I am still going to print off our 6 boarding passes for this summers vacation 24 hours ahead of time!

I could suck it up personally to be patted down by the opposite sex, but they'd have to sedate me before I'd allow any man to do it to my DD. I'm glad to hear it hasn't been an issue for kids anyway.

(no flames please... I have issues and that's all there is to it)

No flames... but dont you think its called doing their job. If you under 16 anyways there are no pat downs requiered.

Uh, no. When we were patted down, DH and I, there was only one attendant at our line. Since we are a hetersexual couple, one of us was patted down by the opposite gender.
You do know you have the absolute right to request to be patted down by a TSA agent of your own gender, right? I mean, I'm sure YOU know, but there seem to be a lot of first-time flyers or people who haven't flown since before 9/11 here.

Well, at the time, I was really alot more concerned about my then 4yo son who was left to fend for himself while mom and dad were being "patted down". The person patting me down kept yelling at my son not to come closer, and kept needing to remind me that I couldn't reach out to my son. At that point, I wasn't concerned about the mechanics of being patted down. I am grateful that there weren't any people interested in taking my son at that point.

You have got to be kidding me! :sad2: Was there even an agent watching out for him? And why couldn't he come closer?

The same thing happened to me and my family last year. My DH was picked and I was PO'd. All they did was make him show his ID before he could print a boarding pass and then we were on with it but it really was a pain because I had attempted to print the boarding pass :sad2:

I'm glad I found this thread!! We are leaving tomorrow & I could not print my 12YO's boarding pass online. I called & the agent said not to worry, he can board with you even if he gets a "C" boarding pass. I was getting worried. Hopefully it will all work out.

No, there wasn't. This was soon after 9/11, and they weren't so smooth with the lines as they are now. My son looked like he was ready to dart for the gates, but the person who was inspecting me looked like she was more likely to call security if I tried to grab my son than help me if he tried to get away.
