DH just tells me..."So at work today, I got a phone call from my Mom, she was at Ms and wanted to know if there was a cartridge you wanted because she saw they were on sale. But I knew you just got the one you wanted, so I told her that."

DH and I talk on IM all the time, there was no..."hey, are there any carts you want?" Plus, we have had discussions that I wanted the Sesame Street cart, so he did know one that I didn't have yet. MIL is a bit gift giving challenged, so now I sit here knowing I could have been receiving a Cricut cartridge this year. I told him, he could email her, but I got, "Well, she's not at Michaels now." As if Michaels will never have carts on sale ever again.

Off to the dog house for him pirate: until he does something wonderful to get out of that major boo boo. Men just don't get it sometimes, do they?

ARGH! I can't stand it when they do stuff like that! Hugs for you!

 Sorry he messed up. Lucky for me, mine will ask if there are any new ones I don't have yet.
Maybe yours will still tell his Mom and she can go back to Michaels.

they just don't get it do they???

my mil buys me a white wool coat EVERY year for xmas. EVERY YEAR. i'm not a coat person. so she always sees me w/out a coat so i think she thinks i need a coat!:confused3
and i tell her ALL the time, ya know i just love that Michael's store. And I just love the scrap section.....hint......hint......hint......
:rotfl:

:rotfl: on the coat every year Holly!!!! My MIL is similar but it's sheets. One year she asked me to e-mail her a list of what I wanted for Christmas. On the list was a link to some Mickey Mouse sheets that were on sale. Well, I got sheets, ugly ones with no Mickey Mouse. Now, every year I get sheets for Christmas and still no Mickey ones and still ugly. They are nice sheets, just ugly colors.:confused3 I really don't need that many sheets, we don't wear through them that fast!!!!:lmao:

So, I have to know. Is it the same STYLE every year? And do you keep them?

YUP! white. long white wool coat. EVERY year. so i just pass them out to everyone. it's kinda funny that my family and friends start asking in october.
like who got the last one and who's in the line for the next one!!!!!:rotfl:

sorry about the sheets DIT! that's that same thing!

If it was my house, my DH would owe me a cart (I'll use any excuse :goodvibes). Here's hoping things get better.
My MIL buys me stinky candles every year. Not Yankee or Woodwick or anything nice, the $1 store ones that don't quite smell like anything they should. For the last 17 years I have suffered from chronic migraines and scents are one thing that triggers them. We've repeatedly told her no candles but ever year she claims to "forget". I think it's a power trip. So, for the last couple years I've been buying her an ugly "I'm the grandma" t-shirt from the boys and they give it to her so she is obligated to wear it. She hates being old enough to be a grandma. My little piece of revenge. :rolleyes1

That's hilarious Holly! I'd be asking in October too... except there is absolutely no reason for a Texan to have a wool coat. :lmao: Even a cold natured Texan.

:lmao::lmao: This is a funny thread!! Except for Hope missing out a cart that is.

Mutliple white wool coats? What does she think you do with the others?

Sheets, sheets and more sheets? :lmao:

My mother inlaw gets me jewelry for every occasion, once in a while a purse. I only wear jewelry for formal occasions - -I have no idea whether this stuff is good jewelry or costume-type stuff. The purses....yikes....one had long leather fringe. I can't imagine anyone ever buying it for anyone!

I think I am easy to buy for - -ACM, Js, M gift cards, notebooks & pencils, coffee -- all good stuff that doesn't require a whole lot of thought or effort.

I am enjoying reading about other MIL's gift giving challenges. Mine likes to shop clearance, so it is always an odd assortment. Any clothes are at least a size too small. She knows I like Disney, she has been to our apartment and can see what type of Disney stuff I like...I always get Pooh stuff...there is no Pooh stuff in the place. Or she will buy stuff for DH and put both of our names on it. If it was just stuff from her and DFIL it would be more amusing, but she also shops for the things from Grandpa. At least, with that she has decided to go the route of gift cards the last 2 years. Only last year, DH's GC was more than mine. :confused3 DH was steamed about that. And the thing is DMIL is a crafter! She does cards, but is always asking me about the Cricut, and cuttlebug, and crop-a-dile, etc. So she would know what type of stuff would be good. Really, Michael's GC is all I need! The last couple of years, I've gotten a scrapbook album. A couple of have been Disney which is nice, but one was an old one from like the 70s, with faded pages, and I am positive it is not acid free. :confused3

My MIL is a nice person, and there is not family drama like I am entertained with frequently on the Community board, so I don't want to knock her too hard. But if "it's the thought that counts," I sometimes wonder exactly what she was thinking!

i have no idea!!!! i never have a coat on when i see her, so i guess i look cold to her!:rotfl2:
