I was just checking to see if park hopper tickets were cheaper on Arestravel and found that right now you can get an adult park hopper ticket for the price of a child's if you are going between Jan. 6th - April 3th 2009.
This is a great deal, I'm not sure how long it is running for.

I believe Disneyland is offering this same deal starting in January after the holiday travel. Is the Ayres deal for right now?

Everyone at Kids' Prices is the 2009 winter/spring promo. You can get this deal from anywhere DLR hoppers are sold (Disneyland.com, AAA, Costco, Getawaytoday, etc.).

Ok here's my question to the world

If I don't buy directly from Disney, does this make things harder for me when I get to the park? I know that Ares is cheaper for the 5 day park hoppers right now (which I'm hoping to get) but if it will cost me my time, I don't mind paying more. Could someone please answer this question for me?

It depends on where you purchase your hoppers from. I'm almost certain both ARES and Getawaytoday provide e-ticket vouchers which need to be taken to the ticket booths with an id to trade for scannable tickets. How much time this will take? 2 minutes or 15 minutes depending on lines. You decide if it's worth the savings. You can exchange them at Guest Services (to the left of the turnstiles) which normally has a much shorter line.

If you purchase from the Disney Store, Costco, or Vons/Safeway, those hoppers are the credit card kind and can be taken directly to the turnstiles.
