I'm going to buy 3 day hoppers from one of these companies. Does anyone know if you get paper or plastic tickets from these companies?

Thanks

We got vouchers from Ares and had to redeem them for tickets at the DL ticket window. They were paper. It's a great company to deal with.:thumbsup2

When we ordered from Getaway today we received a vocher that you took to the ticket window where they gave you plastic cards. This was about 2 years ago so not sure if it has changed since then.

Getawaytoday sends you vouchers, then you pick up the tickets at the park. I would assume most travel companies do this as well, but I don't know for sure!

I'm 99% sure that Getaway now just emails you an e-ticket voucher, which you print out and take to the ticket booths to exchange for hard tickets. You can use the code "podcast" to waive the $10 ticket surcharge on their website.

I just ordered our tickets through Getawaytoday this week. I actually called first because we leave next saturday 5/3 and wondered if the voucher would get here in time. Getaway informed me that all they were mailing was a receipt (and I printed one via the computer when I ordered). Anyway, he said I didn't even need that. All I have to do is go to guest services and pick up our tickets--with a photo ID. Everything is done electronically! So, not even a voucher now.

HTH!

Ok, I see how that works. My main question though is are the tickets plastic or paper?

we are doing gat for the 2 MM's not sure about tix yet. Hope they are plastic , but we will upgrade them to Aps the 3rd day there.

Unless they have changed it recently, the tickets you get at the ticket booths are paper, not plastic.

We picked up tickets purchased through GAT this past Sun. I didn't even show them a voucher ~ just my ID, yes it was just a paper ticket ~ however we upgraded to AP's!!

With the GAT tickets, do you still have to wait in line at the ticket booth? I thought one of the benefits of pre-purchasing your tickets is that you can go straight to the turnstiles.

(Can you tell I am a DL newbie?)

Yes you do wait in line @ the ticket booths, however for us there was no line ~ Sun. (the 20th) morning.

It depends. If you are stying on-site (at DLH, PP, or GCH) you can pick up your passports when you check-in. Otherwise you have to go to the ticket booth to get your passports. However, you can pick up your passports before you plan to use them (i.e. the day or days before you first plan to validate the parkhopper).

Cool! Thanks for the info!

We are staying at HoJo's (no availibility at the DL resorts for our group) but we are checking in on Monday and starting at the parks on Tuesday so we will wander over on Monday afternoon to grab the 'passports'. hee hee (is that what they are called? passports?)

They used to be called passports, now they are referred to as "park hoppers" or just "hoppers".

I knew it had changed....I'm just so used to calling them passports that I have a hard time switching.....

Passports just sounds so much more "official"......:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

The big answer to the question is from Get away today, its a paper ticket that you will get from the ticket booth when you give them your voucher or ID to prove that you paid for the ticket through Get Away.

Thank you. That is what I was looking for.

You're right, with GAT tickets you still have to wait in line at a ticket booth, but you get 2 Magic Mornings (when you buy a 3-day or more park hopper). (GAT has had the 2 MM bonus for the last 8 months or so, and it looks like they will continue with this bonus for the rest of this year.) ETA: See ter-moo's post #20 below.

If you want to go straight to the turnstiles, then you need to buy an eTicket directly from Disney. If you buy the eTicket (on-line), Disney sends you an e-mail with a PDF file. You print out the PDF file (8 1/2" x 11") and bring the print-out straight to the turnstiles. But with the eTicket you only get 1 Magic Morning (when you buy a 3-day or more park hopper).

HTH :earsboy:

You can always go to the ticket booth the evening before you plan to go to the parks and pick up your tickets then. That way you CAN go straight to the turnstiles.:thumbsup2
