I have friends who have kids that are really picky eaters & it got me thinking about how lucky I am that my kids aren't very picky. I was wondering how many Disers have children that are picky eaters or are picky eaters themselves.
I'll start......
My twins will eat almost anything.....except DD doesn't like peanut butter & DS doesn't eat raw tomato or bananas. My youngest DS doesn't like bread unless it's toasted.
Our house rule has always been "You can't say you don't like something unless you try it"....that doesn't mean lick it or smell it, they actually have to take a bite. My kids eat a lot of things my friends kids won't.
How about everyone else?

I was/am a picky eater. Thankfully my kids aren't.

I have one that is and one that isn't.
DD is terrible!! Always has been, always will be. She eats hardly anything.....and she is now 20!!

I'm lucky in that the only things my son won't eat are shrimp and squash. My husband and I aren't picky either.

I have a hard time getting my son (6) to try new things, but he does eat a big variety of food, so I can't call him picky, per se.

He doesn't have an appetite for "volume" eating, though. He fills up pretty quick and gets bored at the table before long.

DD will eat anything except sushi and peanut butter. My neighbor marvels at how she'll try anything.

My oldest eats and has always eaten everything but cole slaw. At the age of 2 he would eat sauerkraut on rye bread.

My middle was a pretty good eater. He didn't eat tomatos, spinach, sauerkraut, or canteloupe. He pretty much ate almost everything else. He is now a vegetarian but does eat milk products and eggs.

My third is picky! The only vegetables he eats are canned corn and canned green beans (we prefer fresh or frozen). The only soup he eats is chicken noodle. He will only eat french fries or boiled, mashed or baked potato (all plain). But he will eat some really weird things. He loves Buffalo wings, rice cakes, and meatloaf. He will also eat steamed clams. Go figure.

DH is picky....nothing that sticks in his teeth, rarely eats vegetables or fruits. Only mashed potatoes or french fries...no baked, scalloped or fried...no onions or green peppers unless they are so small he can't see them. Of course there are always those times when he likes to prove me wrong.

DD#1...depends on her day. She is at the age where one day she likes it and another day she doesn't. She eats mostly like her Dad.

DD#2...no bread or cheese. Favorite vegetable is lima beans, which DH and DD#1 do not care for. She eats more like me...except I love bread and cheese.

Meals are difficult at our house.

I am a very picky eater, always have been. I just dont like the taste of almost everything. Used to think I was the worlds pickiest eater until I had my son, he inherited the picky genes in a big way. I eat a lot of different things compared to him. His first word as a baby was 'yuck'. He only said it once but it sure made us laugh and was a sign of things to come.

Our DS is extremely picky. He dislikes all veggies except for potatoes and green beans. He's become balky about fruit lately too but I'm not having any of that! He dislikes all cereal, rice, peanut butter, chocolate except the milk (?), all breakfast foods. The list goes on and on. His Dad and I like almost everything so I definitely don't see where he got it.

DS #1 is a little picky, there are a few of the typical kids stuff he wont eat(plus hes allergic to peanuts so that doesnt help).

DS#2 is impossible. The only meat he will eat is hotdog & bologna. The only cheese is mozaerella or parmasean on plain pasta. Corn is the only vegetable, banana & apples for fruit. He does a little better on the breads, but not much.

I'm very picky and so is DS. DD will eat almost anything.

DD is very picky eater. She eats no vegatable but corn on the cob, she doesn't like fruit. She'll eat chicken, any type of potatoes, spaghetti. She will not eat school lunches with the exception of chicken nuggets, and pizza. She doesn't like crust on bread. She is very hard to please. Ds will eat almost anything.

DS will eat anything, but DD is picky. Still, she's not as picky as her mother.

Picky is putting it mildly. But the worse thing is no one agrees about their dislikes!! So 2 of the 3 of us will like something but the 3 doesn't.
