Ready to go once things open in your area or being more (maybe even overly) cautious?




Me...I'm in the overly cautious group. I have been shopping only once every other week. I will get take out once per week (or less). Stores & restaurants have just gotten the okay to open but I won't dinning in for a while. I do need a new clothes washer, so I will be making a trip to Home Depot tomorrow or Monday.

I'm cautious. We just had our stores open and our restaurants open for dine in. I'm going to sit it out for 3 weeks or so to see how our numbers look.

I’m going to be cautious as well. Our salons could be opening in a week or two. My
mom is thrilled since she usually gets her hair done every week and now hasn’t since March. I would love to get my hair cut, but I don’t want to rush out as soon as I can. I’d rather wait and see if cases start rising before I go. Same with restaurants. I’ll continue to get take-out but will wait awhile before dining in. I go to the grocery store twice a week- once to shop for the week and once to replenish fresh produce. Otherwise I’m staying at home.

I'm pretty ready. Our second run at a Phase 1 may or may not (it was already aborted once) take place on Monday. If salons actually open, I will camp out overnight to be first in line for a haircut. It may also be permitted for churches to hold services again in groups of 50 or less. Ours is toying with the idea of a staggered communion service on Pentacost Sunday. People would have to sign up for 20-minute spots and it could take hours and hours to get everyone safely accommodated but yep - if it's a go, we'll be there!

OTOH, we won't rush back to dine-in restaurants until we get a better feel for what the experience will be like. As for shopping, I'm not much of a shopper and I haven't missed the mall one bit.

I'm on the cautious side. Mostly due to my age. I'm a little bummed that things are opening up and people who think they're good to go are going to be running around without masks, even though they're required if you're outside your home.

Basically it's setting up a "old people stay home" situation. I wear a mask, but, as often mentioned, it's not for MY protection, but everyone else's. But not everyone else will be wearing a mask to help protect me.

I just hope places like Sam's Club and grocery stores continue with senior hours.

I'm cautious to overly cautious, having been ill I don't want it again. I'm going to give it until the first Saturday in June. My sister is really struggling and I want to get her out of her house, even if it's just to the supermarket and a nice drive. I think I'll be better up to it physically by then, too. If things are getting worse again by then, I'll reevaluate. I don't mind staying in.

We're basically totally open (allowed to be anyways.) I'm being more cautious about touching things, washing hands, sanitizing etc., but I'm ready and have already been out and about. We have an Orlando trip planned in 2 weeks. We've decided that we're still going (flying) but switched to UO since Disney chooses to keep canceling our reservations 3 weeks prior. We'll be careful, but we're back to "living." I will say none of us are high risk and will not see/interact with anyone who is high risk until we've been home for at least 2 weeks.

If masks are required why are people permitted into businesses without them? I don't think you need to worry near as much about random people outdoors that you can more easily avoid.

I’m in the overly cautious group. Shop every two weeks and that’s basically it. We have gotten takeout a few times. Everyone is pretty much wearing masks here, so that helps to alleviate some of the concern. I really hope they continue to as we move along. But we’re also not ready to move to the next phase. We’re still in very early into Phase 1. I will wait for a while before I’ll dine in restaurants once they’re open again.

I try to walk a line of reasonable caution. I feel like I recognized that the danger comes from droplet spread in close contact / talking early on, so while we limited our outings, we didn't avoid takeout or shopping. So I will continue to avoid gatherings, out-of-state travel, eating out at most places. There are a few restaurants that we eat at where social distancing was already sort of standard (just not that busy when we would go) and so I would be willing to eat at those. We are not church goers, and our families live in other states, so we don't have the pull of those, that would make things more difficult. But I've never been worried about intermittent contact, especially once masks became the norm. We are talking about going to a new antique mall this weekend, and maybe at some point this summer visiting one of our state's National Parks that we haven't been to, but would require a night or two at a hotel. I feel that we can keep to ourselves in those situations for the most part. Once the malls reopen, I will go if I have a purpose, but not casual shopping, just to be there. Basically, if there is a need, we'll do it. If it is a want, and low risk, then we'll do those. But high risk wants can wait.

I feel ready to start going back to normal but hubby is more cautious. He said he’s okay with going to stores while he has a mask on (he’s using an N95 that he had on hand) but eating out is a no-go for him partly because you have to take off your mask to eat.
We are postponing our dental cleanings for now. Our pool is going to be opening soon and I feel that is low risk so we’re going to go.

Cautiously optimistic about venturing out. We have been overly cautious for most of this. We haven't stepped foot in a store since early March, doing curbside and delivery instead. We were slow to do take out, but have been doing more. Have socially distanced visit with some family, despite it being against our order (which is a dumb part of it, imo). Our restaurants just opened for patio dining, so maybe we'll do that for Father's Day. Thankfully have some time to see where things are. ODD had an ortho appt on Friday, which felt like jumping in feet first, but I feel ok with how it all went, so willing to venture out a little more now.

ETA: We have some of the strictest rules in our SIP order, so it helps that I can watch other areas as they open up before having to make any decisions here.

As things are opening up a bit I'm getting out more, but I won't be rushing to eat at a restaurant, etc. After two months of not leaving home except to exercise (DH did the shopping) I took a 900 mile road trip to check on my parents and deal with some essential business for them. (I took my own food for the road and worked very hard to avoid contact with anyone until after I left them.) Since returning, I've been out of my house with a mask several times. It's not super comfortable, but it's time to take care of some business - things like going to home depot for a replacement for a broken door. I'm hoping to start back into my routine of road trips to my parents, but can't really see them unless it's an emergency until senior facilities open up.

I am a rule follower, so I will basically follow every rule to the T and probably be cautious beyond that.

I did go out today. I wore my mask and met up with a group at a restaurant. The restaurant spaced tables far apart and the staff word masks and gloves and basically all precautions were taken. That was a good experience.

Then I stopped at Target and things weren't so good. I'd say that about half or so of the people there didn't wear masks and people often crowded together. I'm glad that I went out today but I think that I'll wait a while before doing so again.

Our area is mostly open.

We are living our lives, with caution and choosing our exposures.

I did a pick up for a big Walmart grocery order on Friday.

Dh had a filling replaced at the dentist.

5/23 we went to Carmax and replaced 2 older cars. Ds and dd went with us. So there were 4 of us. We test drove 5 autos without a representative in the car with us. We wore masks in the sales room. The salesman did not. Some patrons wore masks, but not all.

Our church reopened Saturday. All in attendance wore masks ( our pastor required it and did offer a mask to someone who came without a mask, but they chose to leave). He is African American and type 2 diabetic and is taking his and everyone's risks very seriously. 66 people were in attendance all seated socially distanced and new precautions in place. Usually that service has about 160 in attendance. It was live streamed and had over 200 views last I checked.

Overall it went well. Many volunteers helped to sanitize surfaces after.

Dd will have a check upon Tuesday with a specialist. The doctor's office requires (for the pandemic) that because she's 18, she goes inside to the appointment alone, but she can call me and I can be on speaker phone for the appointment. She's stating college in the fall and we have questions abt managing her lupus during the pandemic and while away at college.

She will have a real in person regular high school socially distanced graduation on Saturday in our Coliseum. Her class of 305 will be seated 6 feet apart. She'll wear a mask. Guests are limited to 4 tickets per student. We all have to sit 6 feet apart. There will be other modifications.

We are still taking out from restaurants and wearing our masks every where and using hand sanitizer.

None of us have gotten haircuts, yet. Masks will be required when we do.

I am beyond ready. We chose not to wear mask. If a mask is required, we just skip it. Where I live, it is 75% non mask and 25% wearing mask. The larger town down the hill is about 50/50. I haven't gone shopping at the larger towns. I have had people over and I have also gone to friend's homes. I am looking forward to our library finally opening and mask not being required in other places.
