Same here. Not even aware that some "threat" had been made.I didnt know anything about it until I saw this thread.....
...but know that I know about it, I am officially not worried.
I'm worried about running out of brownies during this next blizzard. Iran is going to have to wait until i can dig out to deal with them. My husband is probably more worried about dealing with me than Iran![]()
Having gone thru 9/11 in NYC I can't say I don't worry a little every time I hear about a threat. My DH still rides the subway every day and when I hear about "dirty bombs" and suicide bombers I still cringe a little.
It only takes a few crazies to wreak havoc. So yes OP, I worry a little about these things.
I agree! I ride the subway every day and transfer at a 'major' hub. Not to worry anyone, but this makes sense as to why I noticed a LARGE number of police in the train stations yesterday, MUCH more than normal. There had to be about 50 (no exaggeration) in one station alone. But ya, I have to say I do worry a bit every time I hear something like this.
Maybe I'm wrong, but being in NY, or I would imagine any large city, you feel a little extra vulnerable to an attack. I remember the army with rifles at Grand Central Station. Not something you are likely to see in a small rural town.

Perhaps the Ayatollah is the one replacing Simon on American Idol next Season?
I ride the subway pretty much every other day. I worry a lot more about getting my bag snatched or mugged than any thing Iran can throw at us.
I used to feel exactly that way, but after 9/11, I take the threats of those countries very seriously. My brother is in the air force and says they've almost doubled their "surveillance" of Iran in the last 3 weeks. Something is definitely brewing over there.

I've gotten used to the military in the PATH terminal at the WTC. I've gotten used to machine gun toting military outside the Federal Reserve, K-9 units in my building...what really freaked me out was the day I went to the Light Rail station at home and it was crawling with cops.I've NEVER seen that before so it really threw me for a loop.
As for 2/11, I'm somewhat concerned, but I guess I've gotten a little hardened to all the threats, since working in NYC does mean every day is a threat.
Now if this announcement was made in a country where they had honest elections, I'd seriously be thinking someone was running for re-election.![]()
You see, this is what scares me the most. We act like it's business as usual to see maching gun toting military and think nothing can happen again. You mark my words, they are not finished with us yet.
