When we were at BB last week, BF went on SP ... I waited at the bottom. When he came out of the water, he talked for a few seconds to the guy who had gone ahead of him. Guy was around 5'5", maybe early 50s, and not especially hirsute. I asked BF what they were talking about, and he said they had got to talking in line. The guy was a Brit who had already been on SP seven times that morning (this was well before noon), and he had given BF a tip about crossing one arm over his front and putting the other hand over his nose and mouth. BF had been telling Mr. Brit that that was an excellent tip.

So, then I went up the chairlift to ride the "baby slide" (as BF calls it) next to SP. When I got to the top, I waffled a bit and then said, "Ah, the hell with it," and went on up the stairs to SP. Got to talking to the guy in front of me. I had seen him down below when I was waiting for BF, and he had asked a couple of park workers if there was a way to opt out of SP once you got all the way to the top. Anyway, he reassured me that the drop isn't nearly as bad as it looks, yadda yadda yadda. Then I turned around and saw standing on the step behind me Mr. Brit. So I leant down and asked, "Are you the one who's been on this eight times already today?" He looked momentarily surprised ("Wow, I have a reputation!") and then said he was working on No. 8 now. I told him why I knew who he was and asked if he was trying to increase his speed or if he just loved the slide. Turns out he just loves it and, as he was going to be leaving in a day or two, figured he might as well spend his time doing the one slide he couldn't get enough of. He also reassured me and told me to lie down straight (not to hunch up at all), and we joked about how women have a slight disadvantage going down the slides because we have built-in wind resistance in the chestal region  , and then suddenly it was my turn and down I went, screaming, "HOLY MOTHER OF ...!"

I made it to the bottom, hauled myself out of the water, and regarded BF's astonished expression with delight. Mr. Brit came down shortly after and came over to see how I liked it. Despite the fact that I was shaking, I told him I made it all in one piece and that it was pretty fun.

Anyway, I'm just wondering if you're on the DISBoards, Mr. Brit. Are you out there? How many times did you end up going down SP? We spied you and your wife eating at Lottawatta Lodge later. What's the poor woman doing while you're plummeting down slides at 55 MPH?
