Are you Shopping on BF if Yes Where???

We will be going out this year, but I am really not happy about the start times. I really hate how they are just brushing over the holiday.

I think it is funny how people do not want to deal with the crazy, angry people on Black Friday...I feel the same way about last minute shoppers and I avoid the stores for the last 2 weeks before Christmas because they are so nuts with people who waited till the last minute and are now stressing out.

I am NOT trying to spoil your fun, but may save you a little money. Wii's have there own surge protection IN the system itself, so after a power outage or "surge" all you have to do is unplug it from the wall AND from the system - wait about 30 seconds then plug everything back in and it should work. (we thought ours was GONE after a storm, when I asked the manager at Gamestop and told him he explained the surge protection to me and said EVERYONE comes in thinking they are gone when they really just needed to be "re-set". He also said he has NEVER seen one that didn't come back after unplugging everything.

It worked for ours, I hope you try it and it works for you, unless you just WANT to get a new one.

I recently figured that out. I thought ours was gone and I unplugged everything. Well it had been awhile and I decided to just try and see if it still worked and it did. Boy was I shocked. I was ready to toss it.

I traditionally go out on BF but this year with everyone opening at the same time and so much earlier, I'm not sure where I'll hit first. I may just drop different family members off at each store and hope we get what we need. :rotfl:
One year I took my DGM about 4 years ago with me shopping. She was a good cart watcher. I would get what I needed and brought it back to her. She isn't able to go now but this year I'll have my DM with me for her 1st BF. She doesn't know what she is getting herself into.

The times are throwing me off this year, but I'm definitely going out. And I'm DEFINITELY hitting WalMart first thing. The Wii is going to be $99, and ours was recently fried by a lightning strike, right through the surge protector. $50 is plenty enough reason for me to get out on Thanksgiving night. I'm liable to hit Kohls right after, then head to JC Peney to wait for them to open.

If anyone wants a Wii for $99 our Farm Supply stores, Fleet Farm and Farm and Fleet's have them marked down already the last couple of weeks.

These times are REALLY messing me up! I really want to try for walmart but I know it will be a mad house...It is more like Black Thursday at this point. I noticed someone said Toys r us opens at 10 The adscan I read said 9pm...so in my neighborhood I would have to arrive at 7:30 to even have a shot.

I really want the Canon T3i but don't want to stand hours in line. It could be sub zero.

I hope to find one online now and not have to freeze. Other than that I just don't see myself driving 2 hours to the city to shop.

Radio Shack has a couple of nice little cameras on sale. Went to Walmart once - never again! Black Friday makes people act crazier than usual. Kidding myself about going to Best Buy - did it successfully a few years ago, but people have really started camping out earlier and earlier. Would love the 42" TV for $199...I can dream, can't I??

okay, i changed my mind about buying her another purse...the 50% off convinced me to buy her one, lol.

They are having an online outlet sale as well with 4 or 5 purses on sale with more patterns that come close to 60% off.

I picked up a few for family in Buttercup, Very Berry Paisley and Night and Day. All those were 29.99 for the large hobo. I saved enough to get matching Zip ID cases to match. It's going to be a VB christmas in my family.

Yep I'm also afraid to go near Walmart on BF - I talked to an employee there last year later on in the day and she said she'd been working at Walmart for 20 years and never saw anything like last year. Wall to wall people, you didn't know if you were walking the store or in a line for something. Absolutely crazy.

I love BF however, which people find hilarious because I hate shopping. But it's the combination of the deal frenzy and an odd friendly calm among the shoppers I've encountered that is just amazing to watch. Huge lines, crazy deals and people who are expecting all the craziness and therefore seem immune to it.

My tradition the past two years is to go just up the road to the outlets where there is an Old Navy and camp out in front of their store for 2-3 hours in order to get the free with purchase item. This year it's a Kodak easyshare camera - I'm a pro at this point, I'm bringing a chair and blanket, as we'll probably shoot for 9pm and hope for a spot as only the first 25 or so will get them.

After that we'll meander the rest of the outlets.... then I'll hightail it to whatever stores have hot deals on things I want as they open. That sends me all over the place - the main mall, a couple strip malls, etc...

No shopping for me. I go into work a little before midnight so we can open for you folks. Gonna be my longest work day of the year.
