After 10 years, I couldn't bother with superstition! We slept together the night before our wedding, DH was there for my hair trial two days prior, and in the morning he drove me to the Boardwalk to get dressed. 
He kissed me goodbye and told me he'd see me when it was time to get married.
I think the moment of walking up the isle will be special no matter what you do. He'll think you look beautiful, regardless of how often he's seen you. But, really, if he's all THAT surprised, maybe he was expecting someone else?! LOL
Do what feels right for you. I know there's a lot of wedding "things" I rolled my eyes at and doing them would have made me gag. But that doesn't mean I don't appreciate that these things are special for other people. No one is going to judge you, and if they do they aren't worth paying attention to.
