I mean, when eating at a TS restaurant??? I don't like to be rushed. I would like to enjoy an adult beverage before my meal.....sometimes two!! :) Do they bring out the food while enjoying the drink or can you order after the drink??:confused3

We have never felt rushed at a Disney restaurant. DH often orders a beer before dinner and once it is served we will give our meal order. I often linger after dinner with an after dinner drink or coffee and still have never felt rushed.

i dont like to be rushed either... i like to enjoy my wine and not rush into ordering. if the waiter comes by, i just tell them we are not ready yet... ;)

I can remember feeling rushed only twice. One time was at Rose & Crown and the other was at 'Ohana. We have eaten there numerous other times and didn't have any sort of problem.

I can't say that we really linger over drinks before dinner though. We do, however, order drinks, then apps, then meal to really spread things out. Otherwise you end up with everything all at once...I can't stand that!!

We always try to make our reservtation either befroe or after rush times and we have never felt rushed. SOmetimes we are ready to go before they bring us our check.

I would say the answer to this is it depends on the restaurant. My personal feeling is that the signature restaurants do not rush you, but most of the others would like to get you out fairly quickly.

The only person that seems to rush me is my mom.

I also enjoy a few leisurely glasses of wine with my dining experience.... often times my mom is finished eating, has her coat on and her purse in her lap and I am just halfway through my entree and thinking about whether I should get dessert or not!:lmao:

The only place we felt rushed last week was lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table, which is somewhat understandable. But the other point of view would be that we're spending around $150 for the meal (or 2 credits per person) so I'm going to stick around and enjoy the experience!

We've never felt rushed at a TS restaurant at WDW.

But, if the waiter ever asks for both your appetizer and main-course order at the same time, don't do it! That's a sure sign that they are trying to get you out quickly and most likely what will happen is that your main course will arrive about 90 seconds after your appetizers. To prevent this, order appetizers first and only order your main course after you've had adequate time to look over the menu and drink your pre-meal beer/wine.

We also have had this same experience. The waitress brought our entrees while we were 1/3 done with our salads. I asked her to take them back as there wasn't even enough room on the table for them and we were not ready yet.

She wasn't happy but bringing the food early is not going to make me eat any faster. :)

It's pretty standard practice at restaurants (both inside WDW and in the real world) to order appetizers and main course at the same time. Not saying it happens everywhere, but it certainly happens much more often than not. So, to suggest this is an indicia of the restaurant intending to rush you is not correct, in my experience.

Wow, that's a surprise. In my experience, at least here and at WDW, it is not standard practice to order both at once.

Anyway, my approach is that its my meal and I want it at my pace. If the waiter won't cooperate, then the tip gets adjusted downward. Of course there are occasions when we are tight for time and in those cases the quick waiter gets a good tip. :goodvibes

We do the same thing. We tend to eat a big CS breakfast as early as possible and then a late TS lunch so we can avoid the lunch crowd. Or we have a small breakfast and an early TS lunch.

My DH likes to dine....slowly. He likes to order drinks then courses one at a time and eat one before ordering the next....I like to eat. Right away. I have tried to slow down. Needless to say, he has a knack for letting the waiter know how he likes to eat and how he will compensate him for his extra time. I think it's great. We never feel rushed then. We have only felt rushed once, at T-Rex. It was a slow afternoon around 3pm weekday and not sure why the waiter was in such a hurry. So my husband, in his calmest demeanor, let the waiter know that we weren't about to be rushed and that he should just cool his jets....and he did and my husband made sure he was compensated....he chased us out the door to thank us and said he learned a big lesson that day about rushing people!!!

What we ALWAYS now do at every WDW restaurant (in fact, at every restaurant) is first order drinks while we look at the menu. Then we order our appetizer, letting the server know we're in no hurry and will order the entree when the appetizer arrives (or even when we're done eating the appetizer). THis prevents any rush on the part of the restaurant and we've found the servers seem to appreciate that we're what they term "low maintenance" and not just campers.
That gives them time to attend to the many patrons who are in a hurry.

Should add that once in awhile the servers try to get us to put the whole order in and suggest they will not send it all to the kitchen at once. That hasn't worked out well, so we don't do that any longer...

We were never rushed this past trip, not once. After hours in the parks going full force, we look forward to dinner and enjoying a great meal. We've had no probs at all!:thumbsup2

Not to hijack, but does CP make a difference in turnover in the restaurants? I want to get out in time for our CP show, but don't want to be rushed by a server.

I think that there are two sides/issues. At a high demand restaurant that is heavily kid-focused (read that as character meals), I think it is a reasonable expectation that they are going to want to turn tables over on a consistent basis. I don't mean rushing people, but I also don't mean people taking an inordinately long time to dine either. I don't think that it it a reasonable expectation to be able to dine for two hours in such a setting. At the same time, someone who wants to spend an hour should not feel rushed at all. Thus, I think that there needs to be a realistic balance for people between not wanting to be rushed and being sensitive to others who are waiting to dine.

Normally when we go out to eat, I'm ready to leave before we get the bill because my DD4 is starting to get antsy...but I'm thinking at Disney she'll be entertained by her surroundings and characters wandering around that if DH and I feel like sitting there enjoying or beverages and relaxing a bit, then we'll sit there as long as we feel like it, especially given the prices of the meals at TS places!
