Good morning,
Well today is the day when we are suppose to have a live launch called Discovery. Brevard County has been a zoo the past couple of days BUT after losing the Columbia over 2 years ago, we are excited - now if you plan on being here for the launch, I would suggest NOT using hwy 528 for it is really starting to get packed - plan on staying in traffic for awhile after the launch so if you are bringing kids - make sure they have some types of entertainment - many years ago I took my children out to 528 (thank goodness I had taken stuff to make a picnic for the kids) - we watched the launch, got in the car and it took us 3 hours to get home and we only lived 4 miles from where I took the kids -of course all 5 PLUS the friends were making plans how they could strangle each other and get away with it :cool1: -in fact the older ones decided they were out of there and beat us walking home - guess what I am trying to say, is stay Kool - you do get to where you are going and guess what its a sight that you just can't imagine.
Anyhow you get here and have ANY problems, call the shop - I will be there.
Blessing always
Shirley

Thanks Shirley! For always watching out for all of us!

Hi Shriley,

Prayers are being said that all goes well today. We got to see the launch of John Glenn i(the last time) n person. Got there early early in the morning, launch was mid-afternoon. It was a long day but well worth it. We took good books and just chilled out in the car for a good two hours for traffic to clear. We still caught up to traffic going back into Orlando.

Thanks for the good advice, Shirley. Wish we could use it - we will be watching long distance.

This past December we got to see a large rocket launch live - we watched from the Cocoa Beach Pier - a good place but be aware - it charges admission for launches. We did not know about the launch beforehand and could not figure out the traffic as we arrived that afternoon for a Christmas week vacation. We soon learned!!

The rocket launch was a thrill - today is sure to be beyond words.

Hi there,
Just got to work and it was like being in a race to get to A1A without getting rammed ----anyhow we have vistors from all over the world and we have some of the friends and families of the astronauts staying not too far from te shop. Everyone is so excited that its not hard to get into the groove of it all.
This is why I just was giving a heads up on keeping road rage in tact tho I have to admit that during this time, folks are just awesome with patience tho kids just don't understand - I spoke with my buddy that is working close with the crew and he was saying that even the astronauts's excitement could be felt. How far have we come in a century - at one time women were not allowed to vote and here today we have a lady by the name of Eileen Collins who is chief commander -WOW what a hero for young girls coming into this century that they too can reach for the stars and it is accepted.
Anyhow as you watch it on TV today (if there are no delays) - keep a prayer.
We remember Apollo One, Challenger and then Columbia today.
Blessings always
Shirley
