Given how far the stock market has declined, have you bought, or will you buy over the next week or so, new stocks or stock funds? If so, why? What kind of new investments are yhou looking to make? If not, where you are you putting your savings?

Not yet, certainly not within the next week. We've either been in money market funds or CDs since November 07 both within our 401Ks and our other taxable investments as well.
Typically (as if anything is typical these days), the markets bottom about 1/2 way through a recession. I think we're far from 1/2 way into, but we're hoping to get back in somewhere between 3 and 6 months from now.
Our main concern with getting back in now (even though it's tempting with the market down 5,000 points from where we got out) is that we're not convinced that the credit markets are behaving in any normal way yet. In our opinion there's still a chance for these major events wiping out major portions of equity in ones portfolio.
I have. A couple of individual stocks and extra money above my standard monthly investment in a couple of Mutual funds. Not huge sums, but I'm thinking about adding more.
I increased my contribution to my 401k....mostly in stock mutual funds. I have about 30 - 40 years before retirement so I have time to recoup any short term losses that may occur.
