...or have you had enough of all the hype, stress, family arguments, illness, comercialism, seeing Christmas items in the store earlier every year,...etc...?

HO! HO! HO!

I think I'm worse than the kids. I get so excited WAY before Christmas. I like the whole "buying gifts, wrapping, Xmas music, baking, watching the kids open the gifts, the whole kit & kaboodle"

I can't wait. :santa:

Christmas is my favorite holiday. I try not to get to caught up in the bad parts of it though.

For the 1st time in 3 years I am. 3 years ago my DD lost her BFF's brother to a drug OD, the following year all my kids were out of the house and doing their own thing. Last year I just couldn't get any holiday spirit. This year I renovated my entire 1st floor and am having my kids come by. I finally feel good about the holidays. Now if I can only get excited about New Year's Day.

Absolutely, love everything about it!:cool1:

But I am aware that there are plenty of folks that have various sadnesses marring their enjoyment of the holiday and my heart goes out to them. I hope everyone is able to find some peace and joy in the season, no matter what. :wizard:

I vote yes, but largely because my world has grinded to a stop for 2 days due to a snowstorm. On Friday afternoon, when I was completely exhausted (October to December have been insane around), and thinking about working most of Saturday, and then getting up super early to drive 12 hours to see relatives on Sunday, I was cringing, but now that I've slept in for 2 days, and had time to pack in leisure I think I'm ready to go.

i'm looking forward to january, with christmas over and done....

Trying to focus on the good parts. I normally love Christmas, but with a death in the family this year, some other family stress, and another Christmas without a child in our long wait to adopt, it's going to be a tough one. It's actually been that way for a few years. What I'm focusing on is this time next year, when we *should* have a child home :goodvibes

Absolutely looking forward to Christmas!:santa:
Both my kids will be home. We'll hang out all day, eating, watching the disney parade, watching "A Christmas Story" a few hundred times, eating some more - it's just a great day all the way around!

Yes! I try to stay focused on the reason for the season, our great family gatherings, sweet grands, and our long distance families we'll enjoy staying with us. :lovestruc

:grouphug: to all those whose holdiay spirit is dampered for whatever reason and all those missing loved ones.

I am very excited about Christmas this year but also do not want it to come because I don't want it to be over.

This is the first year that we have lived close to family for the holidays. We have bought our own home and while we are strapped for money this year we have managed to get some good gifts for family. I am excited for DS's reaction this year as he is starting to have some understanding of the holiday, presents, Santa and seeing family. I don't want it to pass though ... then we enter the duldrums of winter, all the decorations come down and since we just moved we have NOTHING to replace them with and not much money to do so for the next few months. Then before I know it it will mid January and I will only have two months until Baby Ryan is due and so much to do before then. So I would like this next week or two to just slow down.

Then on the other hand, I can't wait for Baby Ryan to come here. I can't wait for it to be Spring and see the changes around the house. Dh started a new job 6-7 weeks ago and I can't wait for a few months to go buy and him to start getting into the swing of it more and for more money to start coming in. I can't wait for next Christmas when we are more financially comfortable ... I can't wait for Alex to see his brother ...

I have trouble living in the moment ... can you tell!!! :rotfl2:

Yes and no. I'm looking forward to the candlelight service at church on C'mas Eve with my family and watching DS open presents in the morning. After that though DH and DS are going to the in-laws for the rest of the day and I will be home alone. Usually we would go to a later dinner with my family, but for some reason that isn't happening this year. Normally I would be happy to have the house to myself, but not on Christmas.

Yes, because I decided Dec. 26 was the day to get back into the diet and I am ready to get back to it! It's wearing out my body eating whatever I want but I can't stop ;)

Yes, because I love Christmas, after Thanksgiving, it's my favorite holiday.

Yes, because a lot of my friends away at colleges all over the country come home and I get to see them.

No, because it'll soon be over.

No, because winter term starts back in on Jan 5 for me and I don't want to.

No, because it'll soon be 2010, another year down in life and it's kind of sad.

I'm looking forward to it like I look forward to any long weekend. It's nice to get a few days off from work, we'll get to see DDs so that's nice. Will probably get to have a couple of nice meals too. For me I much more look forward to WDW trips than Christmas.:earsboy:

I'm looking forward to it, because it celeberates the day Jesus was born. I sometimes despise the commericialism of it all and try to ignore others greedy/moody tendencies.

I'm just dealing with 2 of my pets being sick and may pass around Christmas or shortly after. Our cat isn't eating and our dog just got diagnosed with bone cancer, so it's been hard to concentrate on the holiday coming up.
