Are you happy with your rooted nook color?

How does the rooted Nook Color compare to the Nook Tablet? Is the performance on the Color good enough for streaming Netflix, watching movies from SD card, and doing some basic web browsing (DISing)? I had thought I was going to get the Tablet but I like the idea of rooting to Android and my understanding is that the ability to do so on the Tablet is restricted, so now I'm thinking the Color might be the way to go...

I haven't watched a movie from an SD card yet, but I have watched netflix and there is no lag and the picture quality is good. I have also used the internet on there and other than having to zoom to read things(pinch, then spread fingers apart), that is fine too.

I'm curious as to how to watch a movie from an sd card, since the android operating system is on the sd card. You have to completely turn off the unit to take out or replace the SD card. Would you put the movie on the same sd card as the android OS?

I got my problem fixed so I can download apps from the marketplace. Now I love my Nook Color! :worship:

Hmm, I'm not sure on that one. I'll have to poke around to find out more. Maybe you'd load the movies to a different SD card? Or maybe there's a specific directory that you'd put them in on the rooted card? I know I've read things that have mentioned using their Nook Color as a movie player and even my DD3's Innotab can play movies from SD (which I suppose answers my question about the Nook's hardware capabilities if I'd stopped to think about it :scratchin) so I assume there's a fairly seamless way to do it that I'd just have to learn.

Oh yeah, I'm almost positive that you can play movies off an SD card on the Nook Color, but once it's rooted, the SD card IS the operating system. I guess you take the SD card out and then play the movies on the NC when it isn't functioning as an android tablet.
