Are you guarenteed a view from GF concierge?

Either in Sugar Loaf, or RPC, can you get a specific lagoon vs non-lagoon view, or is it just whatever they give you? We're thinking of staying at GF next year, but we going to get a regular lagoon view. Looking into price of RPC, its about $1300 more and not sure if its worth it this trip.

I don't believe so. With RPC, you are guarenteed the type of room you book... deluxe, honeymoon (although there are different layouts of this), suite, etc. However, it looks like the view is just a request.

We love RPC personally. But the price is a big difference. It just becomes a question of what you want. We aren't taking another trip for a number of years (and I mean any real vacations) so splurging in September is worth it. But, that is where our priority is. You have to figure that one out for yourself because no one can tell you that.

There are no view guarantees, and believe it or not, the regular lagoon view is MUCH better than any of the concierge view IMO. So much so, that I won't book RPC again, or try Sugarloaf. The Main Building (which hold RPC) has mainly views of the resort and of the pool towards the wedding pavilion and the Poly. There are limited MK view rooms here, but they are far away and down the GF marina, and don't give you an expansive view of the lagoon. Sugarloaf is only garden view or marina view, the building isn't situatated on the grounds to allow for any lagoon views. The regular lagoon view rooms are wonderful and beautiful. You could always book a suite located out in the lodge buildings, which give you access to the lounges, which is what we'll do if we really want concierge service next time on our GF stay. RPC will not guarantee you any view, only the room you book, and you can request a certain view. If available at check-in you'll get it, but if not, you might end up with a garden view room.

The way the GF works is that standard rooms can be booked as either a garden or lagoon view. Garden could mean actually overlooking a beautiful garden, a partial building/garden view or even the marina is considered garden. With lagoon, you could overlook the beach area and the Poly, look off into the distance at the CR and Spaceship Earth, have a side view of the MK or even a full on view of the castle. Other than booking "garden" or "lagoon", anything else is simply a request.

For SugarLoaf, as Jel0511 mentioned, there are 2 views available, either garden or marina. Neither overlooks the MK directly, but you could possibly still see the fireworks from your balcony with a marina view. As with the standard rooms, you can make a request for a specific view and also within SugarLoaf, you can make a request for a lodge tower room instead of a standard room (if your party size meets the room occupancy requirements). For either of these requests, there is no additional up charge.

The Main Building is similar. What you are guaranteed, is a room in the category that you booked, ie: standard, deluxe, honeymoon. From there, you can make a request for a specific view with your pre-planner. There are 9 or 10 honeymoon rooms that overlook the marina with a dead on center castle view and there are 18 or 20 standard rooms that also have this same view. We had room 4404 on one of our trips and it had a beautiful view. Other views can include the center courtyard area and the beach/lagoon.

With any room in the resort, you can request a certain view type. They'll try their best to accommodate you.

I wouldn't base my concierge choice on view alone, especially at the GF where all the rooms have pretty nice views. You might have a better chance getting exactly what you want by staying concierge and requesting it through them, but again, nothing is guaranteed.

If you're concerend about the view, I'd book a lagoon view room. When we stayed concierge (RPC) we usually managed to get a lagoon view/castle room. You also face the marina. The views from the lagoon view rooms are a million times better than the view that we had from concierge. The way in which the GF was built doesn't allow for the most expensive rooms to have the best views. Go figure.
