I'm going to the expo Saturday and Sunday. I'm interested in a meet as well.

i'm totally down for a meet! I'll be there all four days (actually, 9/8-9/13) and staying at the Disneyland Hotel. I know there is a September Check-In page in the Disneyland folder, and some meets going on there too but I thought i'd poke in here as well! first trip to DLR so i'm excited (and nervous LOL hopefully i'll be able to fit everything in with the expo and the parks!)

I don't think it will be majorly crowded. I just made reservations for Steakhouse 55 and Wine Country Trattoria the other day and there were tons of times to choose from. I also got Napa Rose, Hooks Point and The Blue Bayou not too long ago.

So I see that ART will be providing transportation. I see that they have 1,2,3 and 5 day trasportation passes, but the Expo is 4 days. Do you think they will offer a 4 day pass?

Hi, Sorry but I have changed my itinerary slightly.
I will be there 9/9-9/14. There were too many great events on Sunday so I decided to stay over.

I don't know when we can have a meet - the schedule is so packed with awesome events!

I am updating the D23 Expo attendee list today. More of the schedule is out, so it's safe to say that our first D23 DIS meet can take place on September 10, 2009 at 9:30AM, Day 1 of the D23 Expo.

I would highly recommend arriving near the DIS Meet location 5-10 minutes early and perusing the exhibits in Hall A.

It's difficult to tell how crowded Bob Iger's keynote address in the Arena will be, but the space can hold 7,500 seats. We can do a quick meet & greet and enter the theater together. The Disney Legends ceremony with Disney celebrities is after Mr. Iger's address.

I am updating Post #1 with details and a clear map of the Anaheim convention center area on where to find us.

See ya' real soon! :wizard:

Hey, can you update my schedule.

Sept 9-13 at HOJO all four days at the expo.

I will be there first thing in the morning when the D23 members can enter the expo

See you in the morning on that day:yay:

I'm getting so excited!!! my hubby is not however since he says this will cost him big time lol. I know i'm going to go crazy in the dream store!:cool1:
I think my dates have changed. I now fly in Sunday the 6th and leave SAt the 12th.

We will be there all 4 days now too. Doing the Expo in the mornings and the parks in the evenings:) 9th-14th. :thumbsup2

I wonder if they are going to have security at the Dream Store? I would think there would be a lot of elbowing and shoving going on there with who knows how many people all going after a lot of the same stuff and with limited editions and limited quantities...hmmm  Should be interesting.

This D23 Expo could turn into a major DIS meet! :3dglasses It'll be fantastic to meet all of you, and I love the idea of seeing your familiar faces walking around the Expo in the four days we have together.

Remember: September 10, 2009 at 9:30AM PT

I definitely plan to shop a little at the Disney Dream Store. That sounds amazing! Do we have to carry around our purchases with us?

Is anyone planning time in Disneyland or Disney's California Adventure on 9/9 or on the evenings of the Expo? I will be in Disneyland on Wednesday, 9/9, and I noticed that the parks are open until 8:00pm each evening of the Expo. Is there interest for a small DIS meet on 9/9?

Other questions:
Does anyone know what the D23 tickets look like?
Will it be useful to wear a lanyard (for pins/tickets) if we have one? Or is that "too WDW?"

Wow a lot of us will be there, :cool1:. From my expierence at Disney special events, there will be long lines. The D-23 information says no one will be allowed to start forming lines until 5 a.m. Believe me the lines will start forming at 5 a.m. So, here is my suggestion. I think meeting during the scheduled Expo will be frustrating because of arrival times. I will be attending the HM Event the night before and still intended to be in line at 5 a.m. Again this is just my opinion but from my expierence when the Arena gets full for the 'Bob Iger Address", a line will be all ready forming for the "Disney Legends Ceremony". I do not want to miss a thing and frankly planning to have a place to meet during the Expo I believe will prevent us from attending the scheduled adresses and ceremony, not to mention the Expo exhibits. So, I would like to suggest meeting after the Expo at 5:00 p.m. then we will not miss anything. What do you all think? :tink:

So you think it's really necessary to be at the convention center 2 hours before we can even get in :scared1: Maybe I should have made this trip solo :guilty: cause I don't mind, but not sure about my step-mom who is coming along with me. I was planning to get there maybe 6:30, since registration is open at 7 a.m. Hopefully they will form more than one line at the registration desk.

Hmm, I wonder what time the Starbucks opens inside the Hilton? EDIT: 6 a.m.

Gosh I hope we don't have to wait in line for 2 hours. I'm now attending with a fractured foot and just walking for 2 hours wears my foot out. I won't be worth a crap the rest of the day if I have to stand in line for 2 hours.

Anyone know the answer to the ART transportation question yet? We will be be able to get 4 day tickets?

Hi, I am sure there will be long lines. I will be in line at 5 am w/ coffee, nintendo ds and ipod to keep me entertained!
PrincessMonkey - you should have received your "eticket" via email by now. Those of us staying all 4 days have our "eticket" saying "4 day silver member". We will first have to redeem this eticket for a special wristband (I assume) at the counter that opens at 7 am. Then it's run to wait in line for the dream store that opens at 8 am for D23 members!
I will be at the meet at 9:30 9/10 - thank you for organizing this.
I will be at the park 9/9 too (staying at the Paradise Pier)-I was going to the HM event but decided not to - not when I have to be up at 4 am!
This event is going to be AWESOME! I hear Nicholas Cage may be at the Dave Cook talk. Johnny Depp showed up at Comic Con so who knows??

I'm wearing my lanyard - I think they are useful and I can show off my D23 expo pins!

I will be wearing my D23 polo shirt (maroon) D23 jewelry etc!

I'm going to risk a naive opinion. The expo doesn't open until 8 am. There's no scheduled event until 9 or 10 am. Why would it be necessary to stand in line before the expo even opens let alone 5 am? For the dream store? I guess for those who want any limited edition pins there will be long lines, but I can't think of any other reason.

Any thoughts?

All of the pavilion tables will be open from 8-10 as well, so theres a lot to see.

I'll mark the meet in my itinerary - hope to see you all there with your wonderfully alien green mickeys :)

I agree. I will be there for all 4 days of the Expo and there is no way I'm arriving at 5 am each day! I'm not interested in the pins, and I don't see anything on the schedule that requires lining up that early in the morning. There will probably be a line on the first day to get the 4 day wristband, but after that, it should be easy to come and go. I'm planning on arriving around 6:30 a.m. the first day, just so I can hopefully avoid too long of a line for the registration.
