Are You Frickin’ Kidding Me? An Aug/Sep Surprise Trip... (12/01) Hakuna Matata

"How do we see? Like I know with our eyes but how does that work?"
"How do I feel the table?"
"How does your skin stay on your body?"
"What makes a boy become a boy and a girl become a girl?"

Those are incredibly intelligent questions, you know.
I'm not just saying that.

Basically. I just kept thinking of gooey green slimy stuff in a jar :crazy2:

Thanks for the visual.

Not.

Joining in. What an adventure and you have barely made it into Florida! I can't wait to read what happens next!!

I love that she asked if there would be bathrooms at the new surprise. Too cute!
My mom taught me that a fib was a lie we told my dad hahaha So yours was MUCH better.
Can't wait to read more.

Yeah I know. I'm afraid by the time she's 5 I won't be smart enough to answer her questions anymore.

:welcome: Thanks for joining.
It was quite an adventure... just not really the kind you want :rolleyes2

She was quite concerned. Bathrooms are very important you know.

My mom taught me that a fib was a lie we told my dad hahaha

:rotfl2:

I'm in!!! Goodness what a long ride! We drive from Maryland and that 16 hours can be killer!

Can't wait to ready more and can't wait to see how PrincessK reacts to Disney!

Hooked! Your little one is absolutely darling. "Why did you lie to me?" I don't know why, but that melted my heart. Such sincerity.

I have a nephew who will be one in November (SO EXCITED!) and I can't even imagine the cute, smart, and intelligent questions he's going to ask. Kids are such intelligent mini-humans.

It certainly is a long drive but totally worth it.

I have to hear the rest! Thanks for entertaining me while I'm at work...lol! ;)
:welcome: So happy to help keep your work day moving.

:welcome: Glad to have you along for the ride.
That's the funny thing about kids. They usually just tell it like it is.

One it such a great age. So much learning and excitement. Enjoy it!

Loving your adventure --- waiting for more !

Princess is a cutie !

:welcome: So glad you are enjoying the report. And thanks, we think PrincessK is pretty cute too, but we might be biased :D

Real Life Update

Last week I mentioned that PrincessK was doing better and we thought that she had finally made it past whatever was going on... yeah not so much :worried:

Friday we spent hours in the hospital so they could assess her for an intestinal blockage. I fully expected that they would find one given the continued vomiting but thankfully that was not the case. Her respirologist determined that her slow GI tract was being aggravated by the cold she had previously (just finished antibiotics) and probably just needed help to get it moving. She was given a strong anti-nausea med and we were told to double her daily laxative until we noticed things moving through "faster".

Sunday everything seemed fine. She had eaten fairly well over the weekend and things were definitely "moving through".

Monday the school called to tell me she had thrown up again. :sad2:

She is back on anti-nausea meds and double doses of laxative for the next couple of days just to be really sure everything is cleared out and to help her eat because at this point weight loss is a real concern.

I'm not convinced this is going to fix the problem. I kind of feel the anti-nausea med is like putting a band-aid over the problem but I also know they just aren't sure what to do.

The whole thing is incredibly frustrating.

Anyway, I want you to know that I haven't forgotten about this report and I will definitely be continuing the story... it just might take me a bit to get the next installment finished.

Oh, man. That's rough. Having a sick child just guts you. I know. I've been there.
And it never gets easier.
I really hope you begin to see an improvement in the (very) near future.

Feel so bad for you.

I pray that your daughter feels better quickly. That really must be rough to go through. My thoughts are with your family.

I hope your daughter is feeling!

I really enjoy reading trip reports from fellow Canucks! It gives me ideas... :)

Sending good thoughts your way. Hope the doctors can figure out what's going on with your little girl and that a solution is found soon.

:grouphug:

What a great surprise. To bad about the car but it could have been so much worse.
