Are you distracted by off eyebrow & lip color?

I find really glossy lipstick to be a lot more distracting. Some of our local newscasters like that wet look for their lipstick. I can't watch them as it seriously makes me gag.

That look always makes me think of Bernadette Peters. Her lips always look like that, or at least they used to. It looked her lips could start dripping down her chin at any moment.

Are you in Charlotte???? There is one here that does this and I can't watch that station in the morning anymore.

Eyebrows are the last thing I notice about a person!

LOL

LOL heehee hooray for not looking freakish!

They are definitely drawn on though and I am aware that in person the color isn't 100% perfect, but it's close. Only up close one on one can you really tell it's a little off, so ya know, I don't sweat it.

Yours don't look drawn on, they look natural.

Your eyebrows look good. I think she is talking about people like my great-aunt, who used to shave her eyebrows, and draw a semicircle-like arch in black over her eyes. She looked like a cartoon character. It was distracting.

Exactly!

I'm distracted by dark lip liner when the lipstick is either much lighter, or simply nonexistent puckerup:. Do people do that on purpose ? Or has their lipstick just worn off :confused3? I can't help but stare and wonder.

Or they try to draw on their lips. Okay, apparently I have issues with people drawing stuff on their face. :lmao: You know how they try to draw the little arches at the top of your lip? I've seen some women draw those arches WAY too high. Some have real thin lips but try to draw on full lips but then they don't use any color or not enough. Poor women...

There's one bridal consultant on Say Yes to the Dress who does this...very distracting.

There was an older woman in line for a flu shot a couple of weeks ago, and I kept trying not to stare at her, but she had very prominently drawn on eyebrows, and I swore I knew her. We chatted, and couldn't figure out where I would know her from, but those eyebrows...I know I've seen them before.

I used to work with a woman who got her earring caught in a sweater and ripped the hole completely through her earlobe. When she told us she wasn't going to bother getting it fixed, we told her she HAD to...when she talked, her earlobe opened and closed, kind of like a lobster claw. Waaaay distracting!

EEEWWWW!!! The ear lobe would freak me out and I would stare at it all the time!

I had a boss who had lots of ear hair. Every time he talked to me I could only stare at all that hair. Didn't his wife tell him that it was that bad? Couldn't he see it in the mirror? I bet I didn't know half of the stuff he said to me.

Oh, another boss I had one time had a long black hair on her chin. It was at least 3 inches long. There were so many times I was tempted to just yank that thing out! I just wanted to reach up there and pull!

Add that to my list of distractions on a face. Apparently I get distracted a lot.

The outer third of my eyebrows are very thin and light also. Dr. Oz mentioned that this frequently was an indicator of hypothyroidism. I found this interesting and am going to mention it to my dr.

I was going to mention that, but you beat me to it. My outer brows are kind of sparse, too, and I have hypothyroidism.

Now THAT is funny :lmao:

oh boy you guys are freaking me out about the hypothyroidism...I have sparse eyebrows too, but it's only been the past year or so. Not really sure why they are thinning like this...I also look like I have half eyebrows in pictures so now I am filling them in with an eyebrow pencil. I don't think they look too obvious though so hopefully it's not distracting anyone :rotfl:!

I did have some blood work done last week and the thyroid test came back normal so I guess I shouldn't worry about it

The only time it is distracting to me is when they look like they have been drwan on with a sharpie in a permanently surpised position or when they use a blue black color and it looks like they have dark blue brows.

I have very thick eyebrows and have always hated that. My mom on the other hand has NO eyebrows. She colors them in but such a weird color. They are much lighter and a reddish color. Of course i can't tell her but i can't help but be distracted.

That makes me want to vomit. Or die. Something. :rolleyes1

:lmao:Just sit down with your head between your legs...you'll be fine. ;)

I hadn't seen her in years, but had lunch with her during the summer. I hope to be seeing her again soon...I'll have to reminisce with her about the earlobe incident.

I have an aunt that has tattoo reddish eyebrows and eyeliner and that is extremely distracting but I still love an respect her despite it all. She wants to see if she can get a lip liner tatoo next. Once it is on there permenantly it is useless to make them feel bad about it since it's too late to fix.

I have hypothyroidism with brook shields eyebrows so it doesn't effect everyone the same. Now the hair on my head has thinned and I would rather have no eyebrows than go bald. lol

To me, the lip liner thing is worse than the eyebrow thing. I love that show on TLC "Say Yes to the Dress" but I just CANNOT watch the salesperson who has the black lip liner drawn around her mouth with the nude lipstick on. It looks like she has a mustache!

OMG I was just coming to post this same thing! I have to look away when that consultant is on. Doesn't she see herself on the show & realize she looks like a freak? Her skin is soooo overly fake tanned, and her lips look like they have permanent black lip liner on, filled in with another gaudy color of course...then the eyebrows...:scared1: and she pulls her hair back very tightly all off her face which just accentuates the clown make-up! She looks so trashy for such a classy bridal place!

My SIL always draws her eyebrows on very thick and dark. My DH said she plucked them as a teenager and they never grew back. I never commented on them in front of my daughters, I never thought they noticed. Well, last year the 8 year old asks me - "Why does auntie always have angry eyes?" Makes me think of Toy Story when Mrs. Potato Head tells Mr. Potato Head to pack his angry eyes!:rotfl2:
