I thinkng of not going to Bomas. Too many mixed reports about hotel rooms closed and animals moved for me to venture there. I think only thing to do is eat at the restaurants.

We're keeping our Boma ADR. I've been looking forward to eating there for a long time. I'm just hoping that bus transportation to/from AKL will be OK with most of the rooms closed.

We are eating there on Sunday! We love Boma and have no desire to cancel. I will let everyone know how it is when I get back.

We just dined at Jiko on Monday night. As usual, it was wonderful. No problem with buses, we went from SSR. After dinner we took the bus to AK and than connected to SSR. Jiko was not crowded, we received excellent service. Boma looked crowded, but it usually is. I would not cancel d/t construction. Go enjoy!!

We are keeping Boma, but we are going on August 26th. Hopefully they will not shut down the resturant.

I POSTED ON ANOTHER THREAD THAT MY BROTHER WHO WORKS THERE AT NIGHT SAYS THEY ARE OPEN ALL SUMMER:banana: JUST MOST OF THE ROOMS ARENT

I am going to Boma and Jiko in Aug....
no cancellations here..

I have a reservation for Boma in late August as well. I was thinking about cancelling. It is during free dining so the chances are so small that I would be able to find something else that I would like.

We are going to keep it. If it get closer to the time and it isn't open, it will be tought to find something else.

We were at Jiko for dinner July 1st and didn't notice any construction going on at all. Both restaurants were very busy and the animals were plentiful and out and about, just as they've always been.

Originally I had 2 reservations at Boma and 1 at Jiko for the mid-late August time frame. We were staying at the AKL, but we have now been moved to the Poly. I cancelled one of my Boma's and my Jiko's. I am looking forward to visiting the hotel for my remaining Boma reservation on Aug 25th.

This is how I feel, too. We have an ADR for very late August and I don't think we'll be able to get anything great to replace Boma. Unless they tell us the restaurant is closed, we're keeping our ADR.

Glad to hear it will be open. It is one of our favorite restaurants and we will be going there our first night at Disney, August 25th.:cool1:

:wizard: We have Aug. 21st reservations at Boma and plan to keep them. We ate there last year and really loved it and can't wait to go back!

I'm keeping my Jiko ressie. I never would have thought of cancelling because of construction. I'm going for the food & can't see how construction would impact that at all. :confused3

Guess I am the 1 dissenting voice here. We cancelled not due to construction though. We were scheduled to stay at AKL for the last 2 nights of our trip and have had to move. The dinner was supposed to be a way to get DS excited about staying there. Guess we'll have to save that secret for next time. I just couldn't go there knowing I wouldn't be coming back. Yet.

I cancelled for the construction and we decided to spend the time enjoying our upgrade at SSR. I now have a new ADR for the Turf club
