Are you buying the photo package?

We've bought them before, but before there were a lot of opportunities for photos. In addition, masks were never a question in public spaces in the beforetimes. But with masks, I don't know if a photo package is going to be worth it.

Do we have to wear masks for photos? I'm thinking mostly of the ones on Formal night, but also any other photo ops on the cruise.

Are you buying the package? Or have you bought before?

We did a package in 2019 because there were 12 of us on an 8 day cruise and it was totally worth it.

Last week on the Dream, we had to wear masks in all the photos inside (except at the dinner table)...so we didn't even consider it. Also, since there were only 2 of us, I don't think we would have gotten the same value.

We bought the photo package on our Fantasy trip 2 weeks ago. Masks are required for photos indoors, including at dinner and the photo “stations” (backdrops). You can ask a shutters cast member to take photos outdoors, without masks.
All in all, I would not buy a photo package again until after the mask mandates are over. I will never put up or display (or even include in a slideshow) pictures where we are masked. That’s not how I want to remember my trip. I would have just paid for the few good shots we were able to take on the deck maskless, and call it a day.

Don’t get me wrong, the trip was fantastic, right in the middle of the Omicron surge…but the masked pics made me so mad, knowing how good they would have turned out without a mask.

I am planning to purchase on my solo trip. Pictures with masks on don't bother me. I am looking to document the moments.

You can wait until the last day of your cruise, review your photos, and purchase it then if you decide it is worth it.
True, but I used to buy "all" the photos and that's cheaper if you buy them before your trip. And while they say you can get a refund, they do everything in their power to make that difficult or convince you not to do it, so I'd rather not have that fight on the last night of my trip, either.

Good point, and I'll poll my traveling party. But for me, if I have to have a mask on, then I won't bother with makeup (for formal night) and then I probably won't want the photos either.

I suppose a good compromise might be the package of 10 photos, but still... masks. It's not that having to wear the masks bothers me (since they are prudently necessary right now), but it's that I don't need a photo of my outfit and hair without half my face, lol.
