DH and I went to a basketball game last night and sat by the athletic director of my high school and his little girl. She is four and she kept us entertained all night! The conversation between DH and her went like this:
Gracie: "Do you have any kids?"
DH: "Not yet."
Gracie: "Does she have a baby in her tummy?"
DH: "Yep." (BTW - I can tell DH is starting to get nervous b/c we have already had an experience with a little girl at church - I don't know if any of you remember my "Emily" thread - who announced to half the church that she knew how the baby got in my tummy and explained it to all of us in very colorful detail, much to the mortification of her parents!)
Gracie: "Babies are girls. Is your baby a girl?"
DH: "Yep."
Gracie: "Where does your baby sleep?"
DH: "In her tummy," pointing to me. "She's floating around in a lot of water." I don't know why he added that detail.
Gracie: "She sleeps in water? Wow - she must be really brave of sharks."
I couldn't even begin to type out half of the funny things she said that night. She kept us both in stitches! And although she did talk about the baby all night she never did ask "How did she get in there" so we were relieved!
Her dad told us that when they got to the game that night she said, "Oh no - we're playing Louisville!" (meaning U of L) because she saw a big red cardinal painted on the side of the fieldhouse. For you Kentuckians we were playing at Scott Co who are also the Cardinals.
