Not at all. I buy 95% store brands, and name brands (but I don't care whose name) only when they are on sale cheaper than the store brands.

There are a few brands I don't like and these I will avoid. Prego spaghetti sauce comes to mind.

I also prefer Hellmans or Kraft mayo if I don't know what the store brand is like. Some local store brands are great (and are probably made by either Kraft or Hellmans) but one is definitely Cains and is horrible.

I need an other. I am brand loyal to things like cling wrap and tissues and conditioner but not on other things like chicken breasts and shampoo.

I'm like most of the others and brand loyal on a few things (Charmin TP, JIF peanut butter, Heinz ketchup, and Cheer laundry detergent are the big ones) but for most everything else, I buy what is cheaper.

Yes definately brand loyal, between the products my family likes and the ones I will only use...I would say we are definately a barnd loyal family. But I try to buy on sale and I HATE it when they discontinue an item without any warning...I would love to have the chance to stock up on my fav's to have them a bit longer.

I'm mostly a store brand shopper, but there are a few things that I must have. Coke Zero, Heinz Ketchup, Jif PB(for DH). That's probably about it for the must haves. Other than that, I'm flexible.

brand loyal for the most part - just shop sales and use coupons to stock up.

Most times I have tried store or off brands, I have been disappointed and felt I was wasting money.

It really makes me mad when Wegmans pulls really good name brand products to fill the shelf with their own brand - happens way too much!!! I told them if I wanted no-name brands, I would shop at Aldi and that I expect better at Wegmans (ie., a choice!)

:):wizard:

Exactly!!!

It is Heinz Ketchup or nothing!!!!

My dh would soooooo agree! I am typically brand loyal, but I have been known to buy whatever is on sale in the cereal aisle. I prefer certain brands but I can do with another if it is on sale..I love Lay's lightly salted chips but hey, if Wise honey bbq are on sale I am buying them.

Exactly!!!

It is Heinz Ketchup or nothing!!!!

Ketchup is the exact product that taught me price, not brand is what is important.
My dad worked at a cannery. They canned apricots, peaches, pears, tomatoes and made tomato juice and ketchup. They had only one recipe for ketchup, and it went into Heinz, Del Monte, S&W, Hunts, store brands, and the canneries own private label.
I would say about about 90% of what we buy is based on price. This week be bought RC Cola, last week Coke, the week before Pepsi because they were all on sale at Walmart for even less than Sam's American Choice Cola.
My wife has a few brands she is loyal to, she will only eat Le Sueur canned peas......she doesn't like fresh or frozen peas. She only uses Bakers brand chocolate for baking. My daughter is a vegeterian, and she's only brand loyal because isn't a big fan of soy based foods, so she only buys Quorn brand vegeterian products which are soy free.
There are a few brands we avoid. Dasani Great Value, and Aquafina bottled water, they taste funny to us.

The one product I don't get why anyone would be brand loyal to, milk.

When considering the question, consider whether you'd by that one brand you favor, even if the the other brand, which other people like better, is a significantly lower in price this week. Would you be loyal? or would you buy the less expensive item?

I have my particular items, like many pp, that I must buy. Smart Balance peanut butter, Charmin Xtra Strong, Bounty select-a-size (has got to be white - no print), Tide with Downy, Solo Bare plastic cups and Nature's Place biodegradable plates. :thumbsup2

I'm a brand label kind of shopper. I use coupons like crazy so I can afford to splurge on the necessities.

Im brand loyal for a few things

Hunts spaghetti sauce in a can
Helmans Mayo
Feminine Products

Absolutely I am too. Peter Pan Peanut Butter or none. I wahad withdrawals when it was off the market for awhile. Most items I am selective there is however a few I do not care about and will buy on sale but not many.

LOL I thought my DH was going to have a heart attack when I found it on the shelf and brought it home. We thought they were done for as a company.

Brand loyalty items:
Heinz ketchup
mayo - well I like miracle whip, dh likes hellmans
laundry soap - tide and downey
TP- has to charim
Paper towel - has to be bounty, full size

sometimes:
oatmeal - I used to be brand loyal to Quaker but the Stop and Shop brand is actually better and over a buck cheaper a box!

ETA: I was brand loyal to hershey's chocolate syrup for years but DH got some Midnight Moo at Trader's Joes. The kids love it so I switched. I don't usually drink chocolate milk so it doesn't matter to me.

For the most part I would still be brand loyal.

That is probably true for me, buying a reliable brand most of the time. It can depend on the item to be purchase though. Sometimes I'll do homework on what is considered the best quality and price.

Depends on the item. Some things I would rather go without than get a different brand.

I am brand loyal, but I'm not against trying something new. I have to question the poll on a Dis website, I think most people on here are not brand loyal (despite what the poll says) when it comes to leisure travel, they are more price loyal.

I'm brand loyal on a few things:

- I only eat PopSecret popcorn. I just don't like the other brands
- I only wear Revlon makeup and only use Burts Bees lip balm
- I only use Garnier hair products

Anything else I go for what's on sale or what's cheaper. However, I tend to not buy store brands.
