What I mean is, do you go through periods where you just don't know what you want to eat? I'm at that point now, nothing appeals to me even though I'm hungry. I went food shopping yesterday and now I feel like there's nothing to eat.

I go thru this all the time. I never know what to make for dinner because nothing sounds good. I go to the store and wander around for hours because nothing at home looks good.

and like last night we had chicken fingers baked and baked potato wedges......never would of had this before.......and tonight we are having porcupine meatballs with mashed potatoes and salad......look on some web sites for different things........hubby doesnt' know it yet but we are having shrimp alfredo friday night too.......hahaha

Nope can't say that I do. DH is an inspired chef and loves to cook, so he is always coming up with new ideas for a meal! I'm the snack chick so, I always have some new form of snack for him to try.

yep. i'm feeling like this today. i'm really hungry but nothing appeals to me.

It happens to me too. I'm trying to watch what I eat and I've been having salads a lot for lunch and I really hate salad now!

YES. I live alone and rarely feel like going all-out with dinners. So the stuff I do make tends to get repeated over and over and over. I get sick of it, go to the store to find something new, and it's like there's nothing appealing in the grocery store at all!

Everyday I am bored with food. I am grilling steaks and brats today, per 7yodd request.
12yodd wants to be a vegatarian.

I don't know how to get out if it.

Here is something for you...

1-2lbs chicken pieces - boiled than shredded or chopped(I used breasts and shredded it or buy the frozen chicken pieces)

1 bunch celery-chopped

2 medium onions (I used yellow)

2 jalapenos - seeded and finely chopped

8-10 cups chicken broth ( I used 2 containers of the Swanson box of broth)

8-10 tsp Chili Powder(I used McCormicks Mexican Hot)

4-5 tsp ground cumin

1 cup half and half

1/4 cup butter

cornstarch

cilantro ( I use tons...cause I like it)

cheddar

tortilla strips (i used chips, I don't know where to get strips)

green onion

Directions -In a large pot; add broth, cumin and chili powder, turn heat to low and let simmer. In a large skillet; add butter, chicken, celery, onion and jalapeno...( I throw my celery, onion and jalapeno in the food processor, makes it smoother) cook until onion and celery are semi soft. Add chicken mixture to the pot of broth, bring to a boil, cook until celery and onion are soft ( in separate small bowl, mix cold water and cornstarch, slowly work into soup to thicken). Turn off heat to pot, add half and half. Serve in bowls, top with cilantro, grated cheese and green onions
Enjoy!!

Lunch is the most boring. I just order chicken noodle soup cause I'm sick (sortof) and nothing appeals to me at all.

My kids never know what might appear at our dinner table though. The other night we had shrimp parm. with spaghetti. Last night was ravioli with the left over sauce. When I make meatloaf (ground turkey, we only eat fish, chicken or turkey) I always make it in a shape. The Sat before the Super Bowl it was shaped like a football with XXXVIII in green peppers.

That also seems to happen to me right after I go food shopping  . Maybe because there are too many choices then.

I wish there was a website that was called "This week's dinner". On Sunday there would be a grocery list for everything that would be needed for the week. Then there would be recipes for each day's dinner. It could actually be fun.

I've ALWAYS been bored with food - for as long as I can remember.. I think it's a huge waste of time and money and I pretty much only eat because I "have" to..

Yes - I have some "favorites" - but eating just isn't one of my all-time favorite things in life..
